I know this is just Bayern turning their media machine into overdrive. But there is a part of me that is getting a feeling that perhaps the moves we’re making right now and apparently that it could be VDV and Tapsoba is spending Kane sale money ahead of time, like we did with Bale.

Hopefully we’re just showing ambition having realised a rebuild was needed. But feel like we’ve seen this film before….

I get you but tbf let's say we got both at a combined 70 mil. That would take our spending to roughly 130 Mill and we'd just need our midfielder.

You're looking at 165 Mill after that. I'm sure that's not much more than we spent last year?

I think the Solomon deal and saving on Maddison has given us a bit of wiggle room

How good is he as a source?

They would still have to reach £100mill if they expect us to sell imo.
He works for sky sports Germany so however reliable you think of them. I still don’t see him going but so many reports coming out of Germany seem to be really positive re this move for days now. It’s likely just propaganda but there must be something there re their interest for them to keep on pushing them.

I think £110m ish gets it done.
Just can’t see Kane really wanting to go there, though. It’s a weird move.

I'm sure Kane is interested, who wouldn't be but this stinks of propaganda.

He has a year left until he can go wherever he wants and demand so so much money, why would he be in a desperate rush to join them? He wasn't for Madrid or Man United.

I think they can't afford what Levy wants and they know it so they're hoping to pressure him until selling for a lower fee.

I also think they're in for a nasty shock.

Kane has repeatedly said he thinks he could play until he is in his late 30s.

Perhaps he thinks he can go to Bayern for 3 years, win Bundesliga, try to win CL.

Then return to PL and finish his career chasing the record down.

He is only 48 from breaking it, so may feel like he can do it in 3 seasons from 33 years onwards?

Here we go with the totally original discussion about this so I’ll save you all some time:

“Kane deserves a move.”
“We should cash in on him while we can”
”we can sell him abroad.”
“We shouldn’t sell him we’d be lost without him.”
”Rather this than United or Chelsea.”

Sorry, even if Bayern were ready to smash their transfer record (which they would undoubtedly have to do), I just don’t buy that Kane is ready to both give up on the PL scoring record, and pass up an extremely lucrative bidding war for his signature in six months time where he can choose basically any club he likes in world football. If City or even United were making a really serious push I’d be preparing to say goodbye; with Bayern I just have the feeling it’s Charlie leading them on a merry dance.

Are we talking about the same Charlie? He's incapable of leading anyone on anything.

They aren’t used to not getting their own way so this should be interesting to watch. If they really do want him how come they haven’t bid again, just all this talk of it. Seems to me like they don’t want to pay what he’s worth.

Fun pattern developing, exactly the same as City with their one bid and continued ‘interest’. Almost like his agent and the other club cook up this plan, think of a fee they feel is right and pat each other on the back over it. Everyone’s ‘optimistic’, then they talk to Tottenham.

I just still would argue IF whatever reasons add up it does happen, that we're making moves behind the scenes to sign a replacement player or two.

Yes we have Richarlison, yes I want to give him another season, but with injuries and form last season I think it would be dangerous to put all our eggs in one basket. Yes we also signed Maddison to take off some of the G/A responsibilities. But he's another one that has had a few injury concerns.

Again, IF he did leave for whatever reason, would be targeting Hojlund myself and we'd still have around 50m leftover to probably fund another top CB as long as we can move out the bloat.

You missed out

"Get him to sign a 5 year contract. Loan him to Bayern for 2 seasons, then he has 3 years to come back and break Shearer's record."

Talk talk talk. Tottenham have stated and we’ve had it said by all the journo and ITKs that Spurs do not want to sell.

If you’re Harry, why are you leaving this summer, when in 1 year you leave for free on a HUGE deal - if that’s what he wants. He is not going this summer.

Bayern’s media machine (all of the German media) are spoon feeding….. and there’s a lot of hungry people here.

This is not info, I honestly don't know what will happen. But I do not see Harry moving away from the PL. I just cannot see him moving his family to Germany from London and also potentially sacrificing the top PL goalscorer record.

I just can't see Levy selling him, especially at the rumoured figure. My guess is (and it's literally a guess) that he stays. Then he either signs somewhere else on a free next summer or we've made significant progress under Ange and we manage to tie him down.

It seems madness to some that Levy would potentially sacrifice a decent transfer fee to let him leave on a free next season. But the guy is worth so much more to us and we need him to try and get back into the CL. Others continue to strengthen around us so it's going to be so difficult, but without Kane I would say it's virtually impossible.

Exactly. Replacing him with anyone even near his potential (let alone level) this summer will be nigh on impossible. Keep him and you basically guarantee 30 goals (in some variance of goals or assists). If that gets us into the top 4/5 and CL, even if he doesn't stay we're going to get the same as a transfer fee in CL money, sponsor bonuses, match day revenue etc AND be in a far strong position to sign a replacement. Not to mention we would get indications quite early on that he won't re sign and have time to scout/talk to/sign a replacement.

Selling him this summer would be a huge gamble and one that I find very hard to see paying off.

I wonder whether the Euros could have a big bearing on what Harry does.

If England win it, and in doing so Harry becomes only the second man to ever captain his country to a major tournament .....surely that coupled with Shearer's record would do it 😃

The way we are spending I’m beyond suspicious that this includes Kane money.
Feels like bale all over again
If we get Tapsoba and Van Der Ven and a CM and decent Kane replacement and he goes abroad to Bayern then I’m fine with it tbh.

Obviously I’d rather we bought all of those AND kept Kane but we aren’t even in Europe next season, Kane fully deserves to go and I’d rather we got £80-100mil for him than he goes next summer on a free.
