Selling him only weakens us (initially) and we're currently mid table. We're only getting (any) success with new owners imo.
And losing him next season weakens us just as much, but we're not getting anything for it. I know which scenario I believe has a higher chance of success with our owners.

Mate we all know we'll just blow the cash on duds anyway. Our only hope is maybe blackmailing him into signing a new contract.

Better to take a chance on potential duds with money on hand than take a chance on potential duds with no money IMO.
Our already slim chance of success in the relatively near future likely goes down to nearly zero if we let him leave for free next season.

I just don’t see how you can give up £100m for 1 season

If he signs, defo don’t take it.

If they slap £100m on the table or he goes for nothing next year, I am sorry, no matter how much we will miss him you cannot turn that down. Especially when it’s going to effectively be a transition season.

People do know we are allowed to actually replace him with another football player
If Madrid do slap 100M on the table then I can see the appeal to do it, but personally I don't have faith that the replacement would be adequate enough.
The transition season should be moulding the team into Ange's way of playing, using Kane to win us 15 points during that transition is more important to us than cash imo.

As a company we are raking in cash, we are not in a position to have to take the money, but I see why it's such a hot discussion point.

PL all time top scorer is many times as big an achievment as winning CL or league titles. The two can't even compare. Shearer won the league once and the FA cup twice, but no one cares about that. He's famous due to his record.

Beating Shearers record without playing for an elite team like City is even more special.

Kane knows he has a (great) chance at making history in the premier league. I simply can't see him giving that up for a few trophies. Not to mention the stress that comes with moving his young familiy.

For some reason I thought so, but ur right, the only trophy of his career was the one league win. Kind of proving my point that no one really cares about a few trophies.

Shearer would be one of the most famous English players of all time even if he failed to win any trophies.

Winning the Golden Boot at Euro 96 (or 2018 World Cup) is also an achievement that will be remembered more vividly by most than club titles.

In 10 years time, Aguero will be remembered as a striker who won one PL Golden Boot and picked up a few titles with a financially doped Man City. Conversely, Kane has every chance of being remembered as the greatest striker in PL history (all-time top scorer + most Golden Boots), even if he doesn't win a single title.

Selling him this year would be a big mistake, we never know how we will push on under the new manager. People saying take the 100Million you couldn’t replace Kane with 200M,
Let’s just make him a offer he can’t turn down and buy some quality players he will enjoy playing with, Maddison, Ward-Prowse etc. After all the doom & gloom on here, I’m looking forward to the new season.

You've surely picked the wrong example. Everyone will remember Agüero for one specific example of winning the league 😂

He can move to another British team and still achieve what you said as well as maybe a trophy!

Appreciate the stress that comes with moving a young family though there's always a price that one would put up with the shit for.

I would prefer he stay at least one more season and hoping he has the captain armband to lead us to victory!

I consider myself an ambitious person but if the club I loved, where I was settled and happy and had just hired a new manager with a more attacking style, slapped down say £350k pw for four or five years I’d take it. As others have said there is more to life than winning a few trophies. He will break the PL record which personally I don’t think will be broken again. Kane scored 30 PL goals last season for spurs. I’d say that’s a bigger achievement than Haaland’s 36 for Man City - lots of hatricks when they were steamrolling teams. Kane’s was consistent. Man City’s dominance can’t continue forever and I think Haaland will be be off abroad in a few seasons.

I assume the club have put an offer like this to Kane. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he takes it. Perhaps he will play hardball to try to get the club to spend to improve the team. Laporte, Maddison and Raya and I think we are back in business. Dark horses with no Europe. Come on Harry!
Love the sentiment but I think Kane wants to win something so no way he takes that deal right now he’ll run his contract down and then depending on how we are looking under Ange and the investment the team has had etc he’ll either re-sign with us towards the end of next season on a deal like you say or he goes on a free to City or Man.U or whoever.

I think unlikely he goes this summer but who knows.

There’s every chance he leaves England, especially if it meant leaving this year to go to RM. 3 years later he can come back and secure the record but leaving now to go to madrid would be a massive opportunity and I don’t really know why anybody would turn it down at this stage of their career.
He’ll be slower than me in three years’ time.

Sell him to Madrid, and use the money for Joao Felix.
Obviously a massive drop off in output, but I think he'd be more suited to Ange's style of football, and within the year will be amazing.
