By their Manchester correspondent.

A key sentence in it.

“Levy has refused to set a price for City to pay, but it is believed that £150million would bring him to the negotiating table.”

They are all guessing at the price aren’t they? Nobody knows but Levy and I suspect that’s because there isn’t one.

If these rumours are to be believed, they seem to be just playing at it and not the slightest bit serious in paying a fair market price.

that’s just not enough. I can understand why they wouldn’t pay 150, but the Grealish deal, rightly or wrongly, has set a benchmark

However…Look at the major deals in football history - in the majority of them, the seller ends up looking like they got the better deal.

And to add, if they seriously haven’t upped from £100m then young Harold needs to take a long hard look at this whole charade. They clearly couldn’t give two shits about him

140, if done in the next few days, would probably tempt me

Absolutely no way. 150m 2 or 3 weeks ago. I don’t think we should be accepting anything under a WR fee now, it’s too late

I just fucking hope Levyman knows this. Can someone tell him?

Oh noes. We might actually have one of the best strikers in the world another season. Damn.

(I did vote "Fuck him"...)

If they genuinely haven’t upped from £100m, Harold needs to have a little think about this whole thing

Stinks of them thinking they could get him on the cheap but never had any intention of going anywhere near our price.

I don't get if they were desperate for Kane why use the money to sign Grealish apparently offered us 75m upfront for Kane use the Grealish money and that 75m to sign Kane it's madness. Also City have paid City tax to Villa on that signing.

Its looking very much like many of us suspected, city thought they could get a bargain and now that they have realised they can't, they are just posturing.

Kane has been played like a cheap fiddle.

Its been a most unedifying episode for both he and City. We have emerged with our dignity and reputation intact, for once! After the pr disasters of the last year or so, we certainly couldn't have afforded another one!

For the last time, he had a release clause. There was no city tax.
Before you spout ‘facts’ it’s worth understanding the facts.

I read the very same article a few days ago. There are no quotes so 100% nonsense.

Surely Harry must be disapointed that they have not returned with a stronger offer, and basically left him hanging.

I hope he plays tomorrow and does well for us. Just start to come out of this whole mess. City are just mucking around. Time for three points tomorrow ?

I understand the nerves with Levy and the £150M bid etc, especially after the Berba fiasco.

But that was 13 years ago! And I am far from a Levy defender, but I genuinely believe that if we received a bid tomorrow from City matching Levy’s valuation, even he would be likely to say no!

It’s plain to see to everyone that we need a striker regardless of what happens with Kane, if we accepted a £160M bid for Kane tomorrow, we would need a minimum of 2 strikers with 1 of them being very good!

It just doesn’t happen at this stage of the window, even with Levy pulling the strings. Kane stays IMO, with no backup coming in. I think going into the new season we’re pretty much as we were as far as tonight is concerned when the window closes

If they really thought they could get Kane for a bargain then they're fucking imbeciles.

The absolute last player in the PL that can be had for a bargain is Kane with Levy at the table.

What's ridiculous is that they could easily pay £150m if they wanted. They seemingly don't.
