Just playing devils advocate though, I'm guessing it doesn't work quite that simply, being that he's the asset we are selling I guess even with his shady behaviour he's entitled to some sort of cut.

I don't know.
Personally, I prefer people to get a warning and talking to before being banned but I don't know what his history is like.
He may be having a bad time of things and was using this place to vent frustration stemming from elsewhere in his life.
Or, he may just be a nasty piece of work.
