There are players remembered for their greatness loyalty achievement within the club etc it's not all about medals.

I do have a bug bare with Levy though not adding better quality around him.

I wonder about this Carabao Cup, if we win it is that enough for him to be like ok if I end my career as Tottenham and premier leagues all time leading scorer and win a carabao cup that’s fine for me or would he rather move on this summer to city or man.u or whoever and win possibly a league and a few other trophies?
I guess it depends on whether it is felt that a League Cup win can be a catalyst for other trophies. We have a no trophy monkey on our back and I'm sure the players feel like it is on their back too.
I'm sure there will be further Harry?jose conversations that mention the chat shown in the documentary too

It’s highly likely that this City team adds Messi next season. There could well be no trophies for the rest to play for.

He looked utterly dejected after the city game.

I just can’t see him moving abroad, so I think it’s either he stays with us or he moves to city or utd if either are willing to pay his transfer fee.
A carabao cup alone would be a disgrace for someone of Harrys quality, even Robbie Savage won one

Im also worried that Kane might leave this summer, due to the club going slightly backwards.
Of course a player of his quality deserves to win something. A league cup doesnt seem that much in that aspect.
So he could go to city and win some trophies. But what will he be remembered of, and by who?

He could also stay. Stay and become a living legend.
Hes fairly young still, so there is a possibility that Spurs can win FA cup, EL or even PL in 3-5 years time.
Look at Alan Shearer. Besides the league with Blackburn he didnt win anything, did he? Still one of the greatest and a legend.
Totti in Roma. Legend. Has some cups maybe?

Anyway, i dont know. Hope he stays forever but wont be to surprised if he decides to go.

This will be the first summer I am genuinely worried he will go.

but if he does, I wouldn’t blame him at all. He deserves league titles and champions league medals and as much as it hurts us all to say it, he isn’t going to win them with us.

wherever he goes, he will always be one of our own

I don't know. Totti was the national team captain and had a lot of respect from Italian football fans. Shearer was the national captain and had the respect of the England fans. Harry plays for Tottenham so he's fair game for online trolls and pony tailed Liverpool youth players.

He could go to City and catch Shearer in 3 seasons tbh. Here he's gonna have a hard time of it. I don't point the finger at Jose here, more at Levy for letting the quality of the team and squad fall to such low levels.

he is you know!

The facts have been stated many times but reality continues to evade many.

We've been told he's not interested in leaving again the other day and even if he did there is nowhere to go, no club can meet his or our requirements at this time.

One more bumper contract and an outright captaincy is all I hope for Kane to be getting.

Just build everything around him for these final 2-3 years of his prime. Be a Harry Kane team, so be it.

I'd only do that if we were genuinely going to rebuild the squad; if we had the money to do so.

In other years I'd think about accepting the £150m or £200m and rebuilding the squad.

But that's unlikely to happen and our recruitment set up is a bit lackluster so we'd probably end up making a hash of his replacements.

It's all a bit doom and gloom at Spurs these days

Feel sorry for Harry in the sense that he deserves so much more especially in comparison with some of his England team 'mates' who have won things.

Also difficult in the current climate to see where he realistically goes. I doubt (??) Levy will sell to any team in the EPL unless a . Harry kicked up or b. Levy got an insane amount Neymar/PSG style.

PSG? Real Rebuild?

I think in the current climate, not many clubs can rebuild the club by just buying players. But even in normal economy, Spurs don't do that.

Which is why I feel it is even more paramount for the club to keep Kane in hope for the final 2-3 years, make him the centre of everything, including as an outfield player captain. Next season and so on we should be seeing quite a fair bit of youngsters coming through, and it should be really inspiring for them to see up to Kane as the perfect role model.

Yeah and there are some pretty shit(comparatively) players with league and Champions League medals. Not just the case the best players win the biggest trophies.

I'd be very surprised if he leaves this Summer for a number of reasons. From what I can gather he understands the situation with the squad, and is likely to be named captain next season imo.

And I think he really wants to be the clubs all time top scorer.

I bloody hope you're right Trix. If he's made captain next season then adds fuel to the fire of Hugo leaving as well.

This summer looks massive in terms of where we are going to be for the next 2-3 seasons. Do we stick or twist with Jose? Buy and sell reasonably well and we could be back challenging top 4, if we don't then going to be a lean few years regardless of who the manager will be.

As I posted last week, pretty sure Hugo will go.

Shame that Hugo is leaving but what a signing he has been for us. Yes he made some errors but so does every keeper. An absolutely brilliant keeper for us and if he does leave should be regarded as a PL legend for us.

Thanks for the info, Trix. This is filling me with so much optimism for next season, regardless of whether Mourinho stays.

I can imagine in this climate there aren't many clubs that could afford what Danny levy would demand, and there aren't that many clubs he would want to leave for in the first place

He's only 27...harzard joined real at 28....he's still got time on his side to win with us and - if not - secure a move to a club that matches his ambition
