On another note, sometimes I wish we could play harry just behind another striker in a hybrid 442 or something so he could get on the ball more. Just musing.
Yep an amazing stat really, but he still got one every other game for Liverpool and England. Such a great player, and just like Lineker should have broken the goal scoring record for England. I loved him tearing Arsenal a new one at Wembley. We had so much talent on the English team back then. Owen was keeping the likes of Sheringham, Cole, Fowler, Sutton, Ferdinand, Collymore, Phillips etc out through his yearsYoung Owen was a phenomenon though, despite the very weird fact that he never once scored 20 league goals in a season.

Poch?
Never seen Andy Booth?Just an incredible player. I don't think I have seen a more complete striker.

Media are back on it again with Harry, although I have no idea why Poch doesn’t just tell them he has already given his answer on Kane.
I don't know why he doesn't just walk out of the press conference Fergie style.
I don't understand the logic here. I love Harry, but if he's worth as much as the media claim he is, surely he should be held somewhat responsible for not stepping up and pushing us through against Juventus. That's what the very best players are often judged on, no? Even the likes of Messi and Ronaldo take the majority of the blame when results don't go their way. I'm in no way blaming him, but logic dictates that if the media are going to praise him and claim that he deserves better etc, he should also be held to a higher standard and more accountability when we lose - especially when he missed two of our better chances on the night. It's pretty obvious at this point that the media are just trying to control the narrative and get the big money move they so clearly want to report on.

Absolutely. He should be blamed for missing that chance in the first half. At his sharpest he scores that. He’s not 100% at the moment for some reason and hasn’t been for a couple of weeks.
He’s an amazing player but not above criticism. None of them are.
Just serves to draw more attention to it and give the press a story. Don't give them that satisfaction, just repeat the same dull stock answer time after time.I don't know why he doesn't just walk out of the press conference Fergie style.
It would be more than incredibly hard. It would be impossible to bring in someone with anywhere near his goal record over several seasons in one of the top leagues. Mbappe and Dembele went for astronomical sums and they've only had three good seasons between them.It would be incredibly hard to find a replacement even with the money being banded around. For me the F.A cup is a must win this season along with a top 4 finish.
I don’t think carrying a knock makes you loose your edge. He is missing shots he used to score with. It’s a mental thing, he is a second not a yard of the pace. I think he is a little burnt out, mentally fatigued not physically. He has a lot on his shoulders, it’s not like Llorente can rotate with him. And to be honest a bit of a catch 22. Poch has never trusted Llorente so he hasn’t got the pitch time, and thus when he plays he ain’t that good, but let’s face it he never really was. So this a lot resting on Harry and it’s not just this season it’s been going on 3 years now! The only thing I can think of is Lamela or Lucas have to be given more time further forward. Maybe we try and get ahead in some games and pull off Kane for 20 mins and shuffle those two around. Problem is we just always seem to need him and we can’t even do that. He knows it and he is feeling it. And one day he is going to realize, if I were at City, Barca, or Madrid I would get a mental break - and you know what, I would also get double the salary! We have played and pressured this young star into the ground. Sorry but not good player management for me, Poch should have seen this coming and impressed upon the board that if we don’t invest in help for Kane, eventually this would happen, he will then not be as happy as he was at Spurs, and then, he’ll be gone, and the board will be left with a bunch of money and nobody who can replace, let’s face it, one of the best players in the world! The bigger clubs would not let this happen. I’m not falling in with the press and saying we are a one man team, we have some great supporting roles, but when it comes to any decent center forwards, we have had ONE and for 3 years!! Big shame.Harry doesn't seem quite at his sharpest atm imo. Away to Palace, missed a few he wouldn't normally, didn't have his shooting boots on against Huddersfield, again, that late header aside, not very involved against Juve at home. I'm wondering if he's carrying a knock, but he keeps playing as he's our talisman.......
