Am I the only one who can never figure out if :stupid: actually means "I agree", or if it's just a sarcastic way of saying "you're stupid"?
It's very hard to tell sometimes, like the way it's been used in this thread.
I have to say there are quite a few spurs fans on this site who do not have the potential to be anything more than conference level posters.
Kane is VERY highly rated, I have seen him for the youth team and he seemed head and shoulders above everyone else in that team. He has a future this lad, I would rather he played than Pav anyday of the week, and I thought he did ok on Wednesday. People are saying about loaning him out to the Championship, not a bad idea but I think he will be in an around the Spurs first team sooner rather than later.
Just a note on Livermore, on Wednesday he put alot of effort into that game and IMO played well.
If people have to slag off members of the team that played on Wednesday, please start with Bassong!
looks average to me, havent even seen a hint of something in the 5 times I've seen him.
Championship at best unfortunately
It really pisses me off when so-called fans are so quick to write off young players. Do these armchair experts think they can tell more about a player in the course of a couple of hours casual telly watching than can our combined coaching staff who work with them in training every day and analyse their every touch? Or perhaps they think the club only offer kids contracts to make up the numbers? If a youngster is under contract then it because Harry and the coaches think there is a possibility they might make it at Premiership level. If they select them to play in a first team game, any first team game, they think they really have a chance; if they keep on selecting them they have done all what was expected of them first time out and the coaching staff are happy with their progress. And if they are 18 and they are anywhere near the first team it is because they think they are a bit special.
But what really makes the difference between the contenders and the could-have-beens is self-belief. When kids like Harry Kane play the fans need to get right behind them; otherwise the "they'll amount to nothing " sneering is likely to become self-fulfilling prophecy.
1) It is not so much the views expressed as the dismissively emphatic way in which they are expressed (though I suspect at least one of the posters of being a troll); and if all a poster can contribute is that someone is "shit" it is not their writing skills but their thinking skills they need to work on.
2) Of course sometimes managers get it wrong and fans get it right; but I am referring specifically to circumstances where the manager has a lot more evidence to work with.
3) As for our players not being as weak-willed and delicate as some make out, I point you to Sebastian Bassong, part of a top four defence two years ago then he loses his place in the team and now... In fact most of our first team fringe are looking desperately low in confidence, and they are not kids. That is why Harry is so keen to bring in players like Friedel and Parker, because the sort of mental toughness they have is not actually that common.

Bigger forwards, on average i suspect take long to develop than the smaller, quicker strikers. Like a defender, big forwards need to work on their position and anticipation skills, something that comes with experience.
