Why do people think that a club that does not win trophies will be able to attract the likes of Haaland let alone the cost it is only Chelsea and the oil rich that can afford this type of talent . Get real .

Well I would include Utd and possibly Liverpool in that, but I certainly agree people should get real because one thing is for sure, we ain’t included.

The strikers that " who's our next manager? " mentioned were signed by spurs when we were among the elite money wise and your argument just reinforces my point that we are no longer one of the big boys with regard to transfers .
Archibald Linekar Chivers and Klinsman came to us because we outbid the many other suitors .
In todays market if you had a scramble for Haaland if he wanted out of Dortmand and City Chelsea PSG Juventus Man Unt Liverpool were all chasing this player who do you think will have the financial clout to get his signature I am telling you with confidence it would not be us .
The days we could sign a player like Gazza over Man Unt are long long gone .
Thats not to say our present squad with 4 or 5 astute signings cannot compete with the uber rich on the field of play if not in the spending of cash arena . My suggestions of players that have been touted for us and may be possible Kim Min -Jae ; Hoijberg ; Willian ; Aarons ; Cantwell ; of course this is only speculation but my point is we could get these five players for what one of the uber rich would pay for one player IE Jadon Sancho . We would be in a lot better place than we are now with these 5 players that are within our reach .
Like I say the top top players are not coming to us because we cannot compete with the uber rich .

It’s true we are not considered elite anymore. At one time people talked of the Big 5. Tnose 5 were Man Utd,Liverpool,Everton,Spurs and Arsenal.
The talk now is of a big 4, the 4 being Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea.
Chelsea and Man City have entered the group because of investment by billionaire owners.Man Utd because of huge income but also being prepared to run up huge debts and being able to fulfil repayments .
Liverpool, still there despite a long, barren spell without the League title.

I’ve saying this to friends for over a year.I love Harry but the club seems all, about him.He is overplayed and I think that is because even when unfit he insists on playing eg Champions League Final.under Poch it seemed that if he wanted to play nobody would stop him for fear of him wanting to leave or something.Kane’s goal is to finish as top league scorer and he has got to play to achieve that. Is it three consecutive years that he’s had long term injuries from December on?
The partnership of a few years ago ie Kane with Dele playing just behind was superb. That’s gone, neither players are at that level anymore. Hand on heart I,don’t think either will get back to those levels. Honestly,Imwould sell both for very large fees and there will be takers esp for Harry. Strikers like Osimhen and Haaland could be our future,I’d get one of them in a.s.a.p.

A very fitting article

And this paragraph says it all:

‘Kane is 26. It also overlooks just how good he is, a player many see as overrated, but who is in fact the opposite of this. Even in an injury-blighted season Kane has 31 goals in 38 appearances for club and country, a better ratio than Sergio Agüero, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, every striker at Manchester United and – yes – Lionel Messi; none of whom are currently also the best midfielder, centre‑back and creative passer in a Europa League‑bound José-vehicle.’

Lovely article. Even some of us here don’t appreciate him enough.

Reached 200 goals quicker than Aguero, Ronaldo or Henry, so I do wonder why some like to have a pop at him. Give him chances he will score more than he misses.

The issue will always be whether he really wants to win trophies & I'd hope Levy finally decides to buy players that might make him want to stay.

People have a pop because he’s not covering every blade of grass all game and giving 100% for 95mins in every second of every game post 3/4 injuries. Plus he’s not scoring 40 plus goals every season anymore

Of course he wants to win trophies

Of course Levy won’t surround H with the players & squad needed to make this a distinct possibility

Everyone...go back and read the first few pages of this thread from the start...if you haven’t already...quite an eye opener...and funny. Some posters spot on...some not so...for me Harry is up there with the best footballers I have had the pleasure of watching. And I’ve seen Hoddle, Klinsmann, Sheringham, Bale, Rafa, Gascogne, Chivers....and I got to see greaves when he played on a freezing cold wet night at Barnet (he might not of been at his best then...) Enjoy it while you can...it won’t last forever...

This bloke. The Roy of the rovers stuff. The ‘one of our own’ label. His personality. His fight to the top. The fact he’s worked for it rather than ‘a natural gift’. School sweetheart. Family man. Loves Tottenham like we do. Role model. Scores goals for fun. England captain. Charity involvement. Humble. Understands the Club as we do.

I don’t love much about modern football with money and mercanries and VAR, but Harry Kane gives me something to cling to.

He could go a year without scoring and I would back him to the ends of the earth. Because he is us. He is a phenomenon. He is the best striker in the world and not only plays for Spurs but loves us.

I wouldn’t blame him if he wanted to move on - because he deserves glory. It would be devasting, as fans, but understandable.

But I can never comprehend fans that think we should move him on. It is nonsensical and disgraceful.

He’s Harry Kane and he’s one of our own.

It is also no coincidence that almost every team that we play their manager's pick out Kane for praise whereas some of our own supporters think he was poor and more than a few occasions on this site .
There are times I am discussing our performance with my sons and we would agree that Kane was man of the match like Newcastle for example only for some spurs fans to say " he was not very mobile " and " he scored two goals and did nothing else " and " he has lost a yard of pace " when what we see is a player that has never had real pace a player that when given chances he will score goals a player that will on occasions score a worldy . A player who has and is still creating chances for teammates . A player 100% committed .
I dearly hope that Harry remains at this club until his career is over and the doubters can go and get stuffed .
Harry is the man for spurs and the man for England .
Some players are great whilst being flamboyant as well some might say flashy .
Harry can get the same results as these type of players but without the flashy arrogance . I believe its in his character to be humble and also not to be flashy . Some call it boring and see it as lack of real class I see it as genius and proof of real class .
