He's a very good footballer, our most in form striker and deserves to start, but let's not get carried away here.

Exactly.

I want him to be a roaring success and solve our striking problems for the next 10 years. but I can't get excited until he's started banging goals in the premiership, rather than league cup and europa league.

I'm pretty sure Hoddle's shot was aimed well wide, Kane's was on target. I'm also convinced that that was exactly what Hoddle intended.

It was positively spooky the way he foresaw that Tommy Hutchinson would dash across the box, connect with a ball that was going miles wide and head it past Corrigan. Maybe Eileen Drewery had something to do with it.

nice article about him on the daily mail
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...r-pitching-starting-spot-White-Hart-Lane.html

although, i could've sworn he supported arsenal growing up...

I think it started when he was on loan at Leyton Orient. He missed a cup game against Arsenal due to injury, and a rumour went round that he had refused to play against them because he was an Arsenal fan, Ever since then people have said he was an Arsenal fan, but i've never seen a reputable source for it.

Nice to have a quote to the contrary. Now, to point it out on the Football Manager forums....

The thing that excites me about Kane is his attitude. One thing is for sure, the lad will be the very best that he can be, can't ask for much more than that. Exactly the type of player that we are missing at Tottenham these days. Really hope he becomes a big player for us.

A few goals against the likes of Forest, Brighton and Tripoli, and a jam-tastic deflection against Villa, does not a top centre forward make. However I do rate young Harry, and he does deserve a starting place. But to misquote Pulp Fiction, lets not start sucking his dick just yet...

He scored a couple of goals in his only run in the side in league at the back end of last season too

RH: Like Saido, if Harry Kane continues to do well, it won't be long before he is knocking on the door for a senior call-up

(Roy Hodgson)

This really is a sad indictment of the lack of English talent playing in the prem. I want Kane to do well but the kid has only scored a few goals against unheard of european sides and lower tiered sides in the league cup. It's crazy that he's being talked up for an England cap already.

If the thinking from Poch isn't,

"I want to win the Europa League, we're not going to get top 4 or win the prem or get relegated so the EL is the most important comp so we're prioritising it now"

If it's not that. Then I've no fucking idea what on earth he can be thinking IF he starts Ade on Sunday. If he starts Ade and that's not his thinking and the league is the priority well then I'm afraid he really doesn't know what he's doing. If he still thinks Ade is our best striker and is leaving him at home to rest him for the "more important" game then there's no other explanation other than he doesn't know what he's doing. Really can't see how it can be argued otherwise.

Kane scores a neat goal again.
Good to see Poch taking him out at 75 minutes - at least a slight possibility that now he might start against Stoke.

Must be the travelling. I thought everyone, even Kane, was tired and slower than usual yesterday.

I hope he gets a run and isn't dropped just because he didn't score v Stoke. He should start regardless for at least the next 5 league games. Adebayor was given 10 games to find form and didn't, so fair's fair, same rules need to apply to this guy who has earn his shot.

Still want to see him start behind Soldado in the league. Think he could put up quite a few goals if he's put in a more free role.
