Came in here hoping for a positive injury update, wish I didn't bother now!

That said I'm not 100% sure a move would materialise for Kane now. When you have the likes of Mbappe and now Haaland, surely that's where the mega clubs will be looking with that kind of money. That leaves the Manchester clubs I guess, but as others have said his injury record will make prospective buyers think hard.

Hopefully Jose and the team can get their shit in order before the end of the season to give Harry some hope for next season.

I'm sure if I looked hard enough online I could find some real dud Law stories.

Anyone could see Poch was going or close to going and everyone knew Levy/ Lewis were fans of Mourinho. A glittered manager available with no compensation to pay? Don't need a top notch source to throw enough and see if it sticks. Happy to be proven wrong though.
There isn’t a football journalist who covers transfers and gossip with a 100% record, so of course it’s all pinch of salt. At the same time, do you really have to stretch credibility to believe that Kane’s people would put this out there given the absolutely shit show the club has been for the last year?

I dont blame him. I suspect he is seeing what is on the pitch and thinking - fuck that. Chasing down long balls

I wouldn't blame him at all. If it's genuine, if it's gossip or if it's a way to get the chairman to spend bigger than Levy was looking to.....who knows. All I know is that Kane has a contract until 2024.

Consider all he wants but no one is gonna pay what Levy would demand. He more than just a player he is a symbol of the club. If he wants to leave he will have to run his contract down to the last couple couple years so the fee is more affordable. Then he could still go to Madrid for 2/3 years and clean up.

Matt Law: Tottenham players fear Kane will leave in summer 2020 if spurs win no trophies.

3rd March 2020
Matt Law: Kane may leave this summer to pursue trophies.

Do you see where I’m going with this? Oh and if you think that little virgin didn’t already have an agenda, he also wrote an article in August 2019 saying Kane should emulate Thierry Henry and leave spurs.

Until other, more reliable people in the media pick up on this, I’m going to assume it’s agenda driven bullshit by an idiot looking for a top scoop.

It is no doubt shit but do you not think that Kane may want to win stuff - i think he would give it next year and then decide where we are at before deciding - thats my view. But I am pretty sure that he is cosnidering his future and by considering, I dont mean looking for clubs etc and seeing whats out there but more thinking one more season and give Jose a chance.

If he goes, he goes to Madrid. And even then, it will be a world record transfer fee. North of 200m.
But if jose isn't given the money to reinvest, that'll be a nightmare. As 200m can pay for 4 very good first XI type players. Would hate for him to go, but the blow will be slightly softened if they can use the money to bring in high caliber recruits. And if it will happen, it better be done early.
But knowing us, it'll be another summer shit show, where the transfer isn't finalized until the final two weeks of the window, forcing us to scramble. Which we know we suck at.

No no no no no. Lets not go there. Bale transfer still haunts me

Absolutely. I’d hope so too. You don’t win trophies without ambitious players. I just think the fact he’s published that article a year and a day after he hypothesised that Kane would want to leave in Summer 2020 is such far fetched bullshit. Coupled by the fact that he’s been injured for the majority of the season and he’s got a Euros this summer, it makes absolutely no sense, unless you’re Matt Law, to move clubs this summer.

In all honesty the story is probably true and I’d almost be concerned if Kane wasn’t starting to ask questions about his future, he’s not gonna create a historic legacy rotting in the Europa League with us. However, I just can’t see him leaving. Firstly because I can’t see Jose and Daniel letting it happen (Jose has already made clear Kane staying is paramount) and secondly because I can’t see anyone paying what Daniel would want especially with his injuries in mind. I think Jose will persuade him to give us one more year and if we’re shit again next season they will probably both leave summer 21. By the way, as much as I love the bloke, if we could get just under 200m for him in the summer and spent 250 on the squad before next season I don’t think it would necessarily the worst thing in the world. That’s a discussion for another day though

Without a reputable dof and a clear vision of playing style and in this current inflated market I wouldnt want that to happen

I wouldn't be surprised, honestly. He's always maintained that as long as the club is moving in the right direction he'd stay, but who can look at what has transpired over the past two years and believe that to be true of our short-term future? I'd say that had it not been for the miraculous CL run which massively papered over the cracks that had been forming for some time, he'd have been seriously thinking about leaving last summer. Those cracks have become cavernous, we've got a long climb back to reach the heights that the likes of Liverpool or City are at now, and we may not ever manage it.

The failure to recruit well for years after beginning to qualify for the CL, followed by the completely unprecedented period of 18 months with no signings, killed the Poch-era project. It's clear now that merely swapping out the manager will not suffice to cure the disease that was allowed to fester and become a malignancy. Kane's getting nearer to 30 and may simply have run out of patience that we'll be able to deliver the trophies he surely craves before his best years have passed him by empty-handed.

One of those article that basically if it comes off he looks a genius and if it doesnt, it will be forgotten about. But I wouldnt be shocked if this happened this summer or next.

It doesnt make sense thats why I think one year - if I was Kane id do the same too.

There are centre-forwards more affordable than him aka Timo Werner.

Madrid won't need another ST as long Benzema is calling the shouts. Also they have Luka Jovic which is pretty damn good.

I could see Bayern wanting a new ST soon but since Lewa is still banging and they have Erling Harlaand in their Bayern Castilla (aka Borussia Dortmund) don't they move for him now. Also they really want Sané, which won't be cheap.

The only real place he could is PSG or Barcelona. PSG will prob get Icardi and Barcelona will try everything they can to secure Neymar next season and fix their defense.

We have at least another year with Kane. Which is not bad at all, considering the amount of shit the club is in.

When we was in the champion league final if someone would have said how the following season would unfold, you would laugh and think that's the most far fetched load of bollocks I've ever heard.

OMG

I would not be surprised if Kane was thinking about his position, nor would I blame him. The club would also be foolish not to be thinking and planning for Kane potentially not to be here in 1/2 years time also thinking of his age. Thats why we should be looking for another striker of sufficient quality to compete with and rotate with Kane, not just someone for the bench.

The club should also be succession planning for Son over the next few years too. Otherwise we’ll end up with our forward line all getting on at the same time like our defence.

I’d think it was ferfetched but would also say if any team could reach a champions league final and then finish below Sheffield United the following season, it would be Tottenham.

It’s in the DNA. We’re never meant to have a sustained challenge as a club. Even the glorious 60’s ended up in a relegation a decade later.

I think it’s pure click bait, this story but to be honest, I wouldn’t blame Kane one bit if he genuinely wanted out. That’s the first time I’ve said that since he exploded on to the scene. We’re a good 2 years away from getting back to the level we were at 2 years ago imo. That’s assuming we carry out some outstanding player trading in them two years, which we won’t based on recent transfer dealings.

Who would buy him? Not really sure. He’s not enough about the instagram lifestyle for Real and co, many wouldn’t pay the fee Levy would want which would leave Levy losing yet another transfer battle and probably going cheap.

Dunno if any of this Kane stuff is true , but it wouldn't be surprising. The intense Spurs press was a wonderful source of scoring opportunities...does he feel that a Jose team will be the same ? .

Kane was incredible for several years , but for some reason (possibly injuries) he developed a second style more recently ,not quite the bustling, battling, pressing CF of yore , but still with a deadly shot and superb passing abilities .

If we could trust Spurs to buy wisely with Kane money then , for me , it wouldn't be the end of the world.
