Them and Lamela showing glimpses are the only things worth shouting about at the moment. Kane definitely a proper yiddo.

I've been writing for a few weeks now that it wouldn't surprise me if Kane were our first choice striker by the end of this season. But until today, there has been a plausible and convincing explanation, fan fury aside, for continuing to start Adebayor instead of Kane in the league.

It's an extension, or an extrapolation, of the team's form generally. In the cups, we've been dealing with lower-quality teams from other leagues comfortably: they don't put us under pressure. In the Premiership, every opponent puts us under pressure and we've demonstrated repeatedly that we do not have the collective mental strength to deal with that: our season is already littered with games where we've outplayed the opponents for long periods without expending a great deal of effort (Sunderland, West Brom, Newcastle), but have also failed to come away with 3 points.

Until today, there was no reason to suppose that Kane could flourish, let alone score, in that kind of atmosphere - after all, he's a tyro, a kid, not someone you would want to rely upon to fire up a squad full of disheartened and ill-matched experienced professionals.

It may have taken a deflected free kick to deliver the winning goal, but Kane's whole attitude, not just demanding and focusing over the free kick, but from the moment he came on the pitch and immediately won a corner, shows that he is capable of bringing some fire into a demoralised side. And he just keeps scoring all kinds of different goals in all kinds of different games.

You don't just bung in a kid because he looks good in easy matches, he has to prove himself when he gets his break in a pressure situation - that's how young players break through. And now we have the evidence: he can score at a crucial moment in the league and he can act as a catalyst. Now there isn't really any justification for leaving him out. Not necessarily last week. Now.

Kane's goal gave us something we have missed since the 2012-2013 season when we had Bale banging in the goals and winning games for us. Think he will be big for us.

I was very vocal about how I never rated him, but I will admit I am starting to come round. He has the nack of scoring goals. Well done Harry, deserves to be first choice striker. Just ate a slice of humble pie there.

He has to start! It will seriously diminish my faith in Pochettino if Ade is picked over Kane again. It wasn't just his goal, he was getting in the right areas and bringing others in. He has shown he can lift the side in the PL as well now, he deserves a chance to lead the line. I wouldn't be averse to seeing soldado start as well as he played some great passes today, but Kane has showed both the quality and attitude to be first choice at the moment.

Looking at past posts of mine about Kane.

Bloody hell. I look like such a ****.

Good. I want to look so ****y that I rock back and forth in a corner in my living room, frightened at my own ****iness.

Whilst it's great you can admit when you're wrong - you're still only at the stage of starting to come round?!

How much more does he have to do to convince you he's good enough for us?!

Now you are just being picky about what I said. And yeah as I said I am starting to come round.

Kane seems to be developing into a class act and has shown that he has the ability to change games for us, and score regularly and he deserves to start in the league. However, it does depend on what the priorities are for Poch, if he is targetting the EL as the top priority then surely Kane should be starting those games before the league to give us the best opportunity of winning it, thereby getting into the CL next year.

We just need to sign a forward with pace and sharp movement to partner Kane in the hole behind, and we could start look like a dangerous proposition again.

I'd like to see him with Jay Rodriguez. No shortage of effort from either of those two, and I think they'd have a complementary skill-set.
