I think the reason a lot of us are surprisingly calm about this (obviously disappointed though) is simply because he is moving to another league. Can you imagine what it would be like if he was moving to Utd. Totally different story then.

Enjoy the memories but for fucks sake, look forward to the future guys!!!

Yeah, exactly. A future without the one player we know will deliver, which we really could use in a season where we need to concentrate on fixing our defense.

Hope this is a ‘Liverpool selling Coutinho’ moment, but I’m not optimistic.

Not for me. He’ll be passed it by then. If we are moving on we are moving on for better or worse.
I would take him back, the talent and experience would be excellent around the squad especially if we move in a younger direction.

He’s the greatest scorer I’ve ever seen and maybe on par as a passer with Modric. He is a generational talent. With any manager he is a definitive starter and world class player. The move makes sense and derives zero emotion based on his destination. Foreign league with arguably a top 6 global club. They have an odds on favorite chance of winning CL and their league, and for Harry im pleased he’ll get his wish: a trophy.

That being said, he hasn’t gotten what he deserves at this point in his career. I can’t blame him. However, I don’t believe he handled the story with Man City well and it totally poisoned the well for me. I get everyone has aspirations but in this situation where you’re an academy player, you’d hope the badge is greater than all, especially if you’re making wages on par with any other top club.

All in all, I’m mad, I’m sad, I’m disappointed, and also relieved there appears to be a resolution. There will be significantly less drama at the club with a path forward and it will shut journalists up. I hope Levy knows that his futile attempts with managers all could’ve been avoided had he backed Poch way back when. I don’t think this situation would be the way it is.

We are a selling club now. We are selling our best player. The fact it looks like it’s all being spent on kids shows we can’t attract the top talent either.

We will be miles off top four again. We are nowhere near City, Arsenal, United, Liverpool. It’s likely Chelsea will be much improved. Newcastle are improving too. Villa have also invested just as heavily as we have so far this summer, if not more.

We are going to be fighting out with Villa for Europe/conference league at best.
Come on mate, you're better than this.

Absolute defeatist talk and not looking at the nuances of footballing life.

We're ending an era for sure with a great proportion of our side spanning from the Poch reign but now we look forward to what Ange can bring, what looks like an influx of exciting prodigious talent mixed with established Spurs personnel who can be the leaders to come (Bissouma, Bentancur, Richarlison et al).

A work in progress of course but honestly, I do hate this "look at what others are doing" attitude because it 100% doesn't translate to automatic success.

The upper hierarchy still bothers me greatly but if we are entrusting Gabbanini's eye for talent coupled with a proactive and entertaining system then that represents a future I can firmly get behind - with or without Kane.

Moved from the itk thread replying to a poster saying the club massively let down Kane.

Since he cracked the first team he's averaged 2 bites at winning trophies every season (semis and finals for club and country + 2 PL challenges) - is that a "massive" fall or plenty of opportunities to stock the cabinet that through his own performance, his teammates and just bad luck didn't happen for him?

Thanks for the memories Harry. Hope we meet again in 2 or 3 years to finish the job.

Hope he gets a send off tomorrow, Kane has been making us look better than we are for a while now, time for the team to step up and bridge the gap he leaves. A part of of me wanted him to stay but perhaps it’s best we rip the superglued plaster off now and get paid for the pain. Hopefully the team responds……and levy invests well….. god help us.

My take on Kane certainly won't be a popular one, but I never felt a connection to him. I get that he's one of the best strikers in the World and would walk in to any team and improve it and he will be a big miss for us. But I just never really felt he was Spurs, despite him being here for 20 years. I look at current players like Lloris and Sonny and past players like Hoddle, Waddle, Mabbutt, Gazza, King, Defoe, Keane, Berbatov, Dembele, Modric and Bale, to name but a few and I felt a connection to them even though some of them weren't here long. But never felt the same about Kane for some reason.

I think the writing has been on the wall regarding Kane since he downed tools a couple of years ago and he's just been biding his time with us waiting for his contract to end. So I came to terms with him leaving back then. Regardless of losing one of the best players in the World, I'm looking forward to next season more than I have for the last four years since Poch's last season. Can't wait to enjoy some good looking football again.
Something got badly broken with the Gary Neville interview and the whole summer twerking at Man City and then a thoroughly half-arsed start to the season. I hope Postecoglou gets us going and Kane regrets not committing. As for Bayern, I really couldn't give a fuck.

I really hope he’s a major success at Bayern, cos if he struggles, I shudder at the thought of him returning to the EPL with anyone else. Just seeing Eriksen wear red makes me feel nauseous

I'm hoping they give Kane and Lloris a great send off. I know Lloris hasn't actually gone yet, but.....

I also hope they do a pre match double announcement of Van De Ven and Veliz. Maybe even Phillips, however he's probably more thought of as an u21 for now and we wouldnt likely have big fan fare for an u21

I can't see Kane back in the prem anytime soon which is good news for us.

Bayern isn't going to sell him in 3 years when they're reportedly paying £100m+ and no premier league team will want to pay that kind of money for a 34+ year-old.

My guess is that he either comes back to Spurs or goes to America on the expiry of his contract, as that's always been a dream of his.
