When it really matters he almost never turns up. This is why he’s not up there with Benzema & Lewandowski

He's better than both, but they play with far superior players. If Kane played for City he would have had 25 goals in the league by now.

Unless he drops deep , he’s pretty useless . Another game without a shot on target

That's because if he doesn't drop deep no one will get the ball to him. Sadly he's our only creative player. He knows it and Conte knows it.

Can you really envision Emerson, PEH or Sessegnon creating chances for Kane?

He was man marked by Jansen for the full 90 mins, and whenever he got near the ball the rest of Brentford swarmed him. When Harry is taking 2/3 Brentford players alone, that's when the other lads need to step up and play through without him. The problem is we can't score a goal unless Harry is at the centre of it in some way.

He’s not. Benzema & Lewanwoski shows up when their team need them the most, Harry Kane has never showed up when we really need him. Just look at Benzema vs Chelsea, Real didn’t play great but Benz winning mentality and qualities won them the game

Did the Ashley Young foul do more damage than they are letting on? Might be why he isn't dropping deep and doesn't appear as mobile. Before that he looking quicker and sharper than he had for years.

He's reached the point where he's either utterly unplayable and world class, or a complete non-entity who moves like the QE2 and traps the ball like it's a fucking zorb.

I don't think so. Benzema has been tearing it up at Real for about 13 years now. 13 years at the absolute top, and at a notoriously demanding club. He's also a big game player. Real can sign pretty much anyone they want, and yet Benzema has outlasted all competition.

Kane has dipped a bit since Villa match, as prior to that he’d had an outstanding run of games.

Wondering if he‘s carrying a bit of a niggle in his ankle following Young ploughing through him?

I dont think he has dipped but do think the opposition have now cottoned on to the tactic of him dropping deep. I know it was prominent before but think the opposition now know stop Kane you kinda stop our creativity because our wing backs arent good enough.

He got away from the liverpoo (;)) players for the goal.

If defenders are doubling up on him and putting a man on him when he drops deep that just creates even more space elsewhere on the pitch. That's why it's so important to improve the quality of both the wing backs who have acres of space, and also the midfield options to play the through balls and diagonal wide balls into that space.

Looks like Haaland to City will be confirmed soon. Any thoughts on how this affects Kane's future?

In terms of destinations, it's hard to see where he can go now. United are in shambles and need rebuilding from the ground up so zero chance he pushes for a move there this summer, while Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are all no-gos for various reasons. I think it's all but guaranteed he stays for at least 1 more season now as there's zero chance he moves abroad.

Question is what happens after that? Does he run down his contract or can we use Conte to persuade him to sign on?

Unless United make a very strong resurgence under Ten Hag, I simply can't see where he goes that's an upgrade on Spurs within the next 2 years. Think the most likely outcome is he ends up signing a new deal either this summer or next and goes all out for Shearer and Greavsie's records.

I think he stays (as long as Conte is backed properly in the Summer). City might conceivably try another piss take offer to unsettle him since it worked so well last time, but I think they'll get Haaland in any case. Levy has one roll of the dice to ensure we keep moving forward and he surely knows how savage it will be if he fucks it up.

And that's why we need a type of player like Eriksen and Modric used to be for us... that would also give us more tools against opponents that are hard to break down. Our 3 CMs PEH, Bentancur and Skipp are very good but similar players in their offensive output... Winks should be that extra card... but we all know he is not good enough... NDombele was just lazy...

Yeah I think this summer will be key. I think we have no choice but to spend big to appease Conte so could also be an opportunity to sell a dream to Kane and pin him down to another deal.

If that doesn't happen and Kane keeps his powder dry for another season, it could get a bit dicey with only 1 year left on his contract. Would then massively depend on how next season goes, whether Conte stays, and how United are looking in comparison to us. You'd also have to assume he'd be within touching distance of Greavsie's record by then - I wonder if that would come into his thinking at all or if that's only a minor consideration.

I can't believe there are Spurs fans out there that think we would ever sell a player to Chelsea, let alone Kane. Bizarre.
