we do lack the right personalities though. That's no secret

We have several national team captains playing for us, and a World Cup winner in one of them. Loads of players have won trophies elsewhere before coming here. I don’t know what else you need if we’re going t boil it down to the “right personalities”

He's in the running for the Golden boot in a season where the team has been pretty abject for the majority of it.

I can accept that he's frustrated, so that may affect his form somewhat, but I don't think you could ever accuse H of not having his heart in it when wearing a Spurs shirt.

I remember when that accusation was levelled at Vertonghen, after a stinker of a season. A manager change and some decent recruitment soon changed that
I agree that Kane will always try and give 100% and has the heart but if you don’t fully buy into being at the club then your form will be impacted even if subconsciously. I think the greater concern is the impact on the club as a whole. You’re spot on about Jan and hopefully the same will happen with Harry but I just feel he’s had enough and wants a change.

Makes complete sense with how we look at absolutely rinsed at the end of the match. The fitness of teams he's left in the past like Man U and Chelsea have been questioned.

Our strength under Poch was our collective workrate and pressing. We used to literally keep going until the other team tired and we could punish them. That has been on the wane for a few seasons now, with players just relying their individual ability to try and get through matches. That is fine if you have a whole team of world class performers, not for us who are trying to punch above our weight.

We really need to get back to that collective approach of running harder, pressing more, to mask our flaws in ability.

I think any manager we get in improves that. It’s a good thing to be aware of.

The whole hour is available now. I said the same as you yesterday and I still agree.

He says quite an amazing thing about Mourinho and working on fitness and going in the gym. He expected the players to do gym work off their own backs, it wasn’t a scheduled thing. Well, that’s just stupid. Footballers will always try and cut corners. Not everyone is as professional as Harry Kane. Obviously the players didn’t keep their fitness levels where they should be. Quite a revealing insight there and obviously a huge mistake by Mourinho.

Kane inadvertently did an excellent job of making a Jose sound like an absolute dinosaur of a coach. If you want a representation of how he made Jose sound just watch any Sounness Post match analysis.

This keeps happening though, doesn't it. Players and managers going behind Levy's back and talking direct to the press or media. They obviously don't have enough rapport with him, or they don't trust him.

Andy who can blame them, the way Levy's been with players in the past. Told Crouch to find another club because he wasn't kicking another ball in a Spurs shirt. Telling Carrick, when the lad said he wanted a pay rise, no, you'll have to leave if you want more.

Maybe if there was a better relationship through the club then this wouldn't keep happening.
Would you trust them?

I’ve watched the whole hour.

I really don’t get all the bed-wetting. Not at all.

I don’t think at any point Kane comes across like he pushing for a move. He has been very clever in that he has left all options on the table. He has said that he sees himself as being able to keep it going for another 7-8 years. Essentially “if I stay at Spurs for one more season, I’m still an as attractive purchase as I am today, should I decide to leave after that.”

I think he wants to know the clubs ambitions, what next season is going to look like, and that he is going to be given a viable platform to achieve what he wants to, but I really don’t get the “he’s definitely gone” comments at all.

He seems very measured about everything and I don’t think he’ll throw his toys out of the pram and sulk whatever happens. He hasn’t thrown the club under the bus, either. He wants his ambition matched.

If he’s here next season I believe he’ll give it his all because he wants the records.

Yes, he has said he wants to win things, and I should imagine that he’ll want to know exactly what Levy’s intention is, in black and white, no bullshit, before he is prepared to commit for a final season or whatever, but you can’t blame him for that.

The timing is a bit weird. But other than that, I don’t really see this being anywhere near as horrific as is being made out.
He’s played it pretty straight, if you ask me.

I think some people just like to be outraged at something... ??‍♂️

literally just about to type similar to this. Actual interview was nothing really new that he hadn’t said before! Only he would like to play with the best midfielder in the world.. no shit! Said couple big signings can change things for the club. Media will twist the headlines to be dead wants to leave but actually quite encouraged by it. His chat with levy should be good would love to see that

Just wondering, if Man United fail to win the Europa League next week they will be 4 seasons without a trophy.
Will Garry Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Shearer, Sutton, Savage, Carragher, Souness, Martin Tyler, Sky Sports Talksport, and and all the other opinionated tabloid journalists and pundits start coming out and saying Rashford and Bruno Fernandes need to leave Man United to fulfill their potential and win silverware and the greedy owners must allow them to leave ?? Even though they've all been saying this about Harry Kane for the last 4-5 seasons before we've got to this stage. Hmm, let me think about that for about 2 seconds cos I know what the answer will be, we will hear no such talk....bloody hypocrites.

For those who don’t know, this is Harry’s brother in law replying.
Liverpool did not win the title the season we played them in the CL Final. (admittedly they only finished a point behind City) - but it's not just the fact we lost 3 finals - we never even looked like scoring in them - and Kane is our striker. Yes he needs help from the 10 others out there, but he has been too easily marked out of those games for my liking. Give most top players three finals, and they will deliver something in one of them at least.

Interesting. It's not really true though, is it?

We always hear how we never replaced Dembele or Eriksen or Walker or whatever, but what people really mean is we didn't successfully replace them with like-for-like players who've done just as well.

We spent £125m replacing those three with NDombele, Lo Celso and Aurier. Two players who haven't hit the same heights but were top prospects and are undeniably talented, and one who seems to have all the physical attributes but even more fuck-ups in him than Walker.

If Kane's problem is that we haven't spent money trying to replace our outgoing players with top new players, he's wrong. What's happened is that simply we've not been very successful in doing so. Now whether that's because we've not targeted the right players (should we have got Fernandes in for Eriksen, for example?), or not spent enough money, or not had the manager/structures in place for them to be successful, that's another question.

But to suggest we've not replaced players is completely incorrect. In fact I'd say our biggest problem is not selling more players and getting replacements in. I don't see the NDombele/Lo Celso or even Aurier's as the problem we have - the problem is the dross in the rest of the squad.

I also don't think what Kane says is as bad as made out.

City have definitely been in touch with his advisors though. He's been tapped. I think Kane is a bit naive about his value and how easy he thinks it will be to transfer away from the club.

No doubt if offered the chance to join City he'd go tomorrow. I do think he isn't desperate to leave, and I commend him for putting pressure on the club. Levy needs to be forced into action.

Now we will see what ENICs ambition really is. Invest in the first team and challenge, or sell Kane and admit we are also rans.

Any fans directing their anger at Kane, should actually ask themselves why does Kane feel like this in the first place? Why are we not a place where kane can realise his ambitions? You should direct your anger to to the bald dwarf who took Kane's loyalty and even his existence for granted. The club won the lottery with Kane coming through the acamdey and Levy has done very little to capatalise on that.

I’m not disappointed (anger is too strong a word) with Kane because he’s frustrated or thinks he needs to leave. I’m frustrated with him because he’s done this so publicly and before the end of the season.

The leak on Tuesday pretty much sabotaged the team on Wednesday night. If any one else had done that to us, most people on here would be out for blood. Imagine if it had been NDombele, or Dier that had caused that fuss.

The whole league should be scared shitless if we sell him to Man City. It would be stupidity on our part for a myriad of reasons.

For me its not the interview at all. Its the timing. Wait until the end of the season.

I'm mostly annoyed with him because he acts as though he's independent of all of the issues. When we were right on the edge of winning everything, it was always Kane, Eriksen, Son pulling a complete no-show to leave us with nothing and now it's falling apart across the rest of the team he's pointing fingers
