City did pretty well this season without Aguero for large portions of it (he iwas not part of their strongest XI), and also have Ferran Torres earmarked to step into a central attacking forward role next season. Kane does not actually seem like a Pep player to me so surprised they'd spend over 100M on him. Plus next summer, the likes of RM, Barca, will all be more likely to have a transfer budget.

I wonder if a potential Grealish transfer will also have an impact on this - he's been linked with City, and will likely be a pricy buy for them.

Anyone thinking this deal might be done already? Don't know why, but I have a feeling the cards have all been stacked already?

united don't need a CF: cavani's been a revelation and greenwood/rashford would ideally be playing there too. their problem is out wide, hence the sancho rumours.

that said, united don't spend money smartly, so i'd fully anticipate a bid.

That's under Woodward though and he's offski so I don't think they will be chucking bids around for the tv cameras on this one.

I for one look forward to losing Kane and getting Potter in so we can have endless debates on here about how many more points we'd have with Kane finishing all our chances.

Really though this is all just very sad. :( I really hope that Kane would be happiest if his interview forces investment from the top and doesn't actually want to move unless it's a last resort. Hope with this club has been an absolute killer over the past few years though.

I agree on the defence, but with Skipp coming back I think we may only need a Sabitzer type to round off the midfield.
Even with Skipp and Sabitzer, we are still very one dimensional in midfield. Lucas, Lamela and Bergwijn aren't reliable as wide players, which makes us very predictable / inflexible in terms of system and tactics. We are overloaded with wingbacks and central defenders, so why we don't play a proper 3-5-2 is a bit of a mystery. Jose and Mason seem obsessed with four at the back but without providing proper cover across midfield. It's madness.

Another thing that makes this extra sad though is that I can't see a scenario where the Euros aren't absolutely ruined by this. We're either going to have to put up with the commentators discussing him potentially moving every 5 minutes or even worse, watching him when he's already moved club's.

United are very likely to sign Sancho so it's questionable whether they'd spend so big on another forward, especially considering Harry's age.
In terms of priorities, they probably still need to strengthen midfield and possibly centre half.
Factor in the loss of income and I'd be surprised if they stump up, especially with Woodward's ego not in charge of the purse-strings.
You never know, they may wish to try to placate the fans but I can't see it.

Haaland wouldn't be much more expensive and you've got 7 years extra with him, surely City would go that route? Or even Mbappe?

Liverpool probably can't afford it but may want to refresh their forward line.

Chelsea? Levy would be hanging from the sky walk if he sanctioned that little deal......!

They'd absolutely prioritise Kane over Sancho. They have wingers for days, Kane would transform them.

Watched the interview with Neville and it's came across to me that Harry would like to leave this season but is playing a longer game. Therefore it might not be this Summer but he is making the point that sooner or later he is off.

I do wonder if he might not end up at RM as a Benzema replacement but agree that City or United are the most likely options.

They've been after Sancho for yonks, I don't see them dropping their interest especially when his price has apparently dropped.

They clearly don't trust Martial, James is a squad player and they see Greenwood as a centre forward-to-be. I don't think they're particularly well stocked in wide men. Although I'm not particularly aware of their other youngsters coming through.

Yeah they've been working on that Sancho deal for ages.

No. Because if it had been done already Kane wouldn't have to do any interviews to try and push the move.
He wants to go that's obvious. But he has three years left on his deal. The club have the power in this scenario.
Harry would have to down tools which he won't.
Also, Bale and Modric were sold to clubs outside the EPL when we could have sold for more to clubs in the EPL. The covid situation has left clubs outside of England in a financial mess ruling them out. That means anyone wanting Kane now has to pay extra and with the likes of Mbappe and Haaland around the waters are very muddy if they really want to pay what it would cost.

They spent 40 million on Diallo who is a right winger last summer, They'll happily let Greenwood play RW if it's Kane up top and they have Rashford on the left. They would absolutely prioritise one of the top2 forwards in the world considering how much better he'd make the players around them.

Ah yes, forgot about him. I certainly think Greenwood will be a wide man for the next 2 years until he's ready to play central.
If I had to have money on it, I'd probably say United are favourites. Maybe I'm clutching at straws!!

The only thing holding United back in my opinion is that their manager is not of the same tier as Pep and Klopp. Before this week I thought what would happen is that United would sign Sancho this summer and then by next summer, Ole would be gone and United would then sign Kane and Bellingham and basically be back at the top.

Then obviously Kane has given his interview and it's thrown everything up in the air, I think they'd drop the Sancho deal if it meant getting Kane but I question whether he see's them as the place to guarantee trophies with Ole at the helm. I think the reason Kane has chosen to kick up a fuss now is because he knows that next summer Haaland is available for 70 mill and he knows that City will prioritise that. So he's trying to make the move a year early so that he's the striker they pick, that'd be my guess of why he's chosen this moment, he wants to go City as that is a guarantee of trophies. I also reckon if Liv had the money he'd be happy going there.

I can’t see him going anywhere else but City

There are three that can afford him. Chelsea.... lol, United and City

United really don’t need to be spending that on him. Greenwood is a sensational finisher, they have Cavani next year, Rashford and then they bring in Sancho.

Not commenting on those absolute ****s in Fulham, taking the piss even pretending they have a chance. Pricks

But would those players listed want to come to us?

It's alright banding around swap deals but it has got to work for the individuals involved.

Totally agreed. It's not FM21. The only two Man C player I could see possibly accepting to come to us are Ake and Angelino.
