If there was a conversation where any 'promises' were made I'm sure any businessman especially Levy would have added 'for the right price'
That's just it - the media in all their wisdom are happy to parrot the so-called 'gentleman's agreement' line but seem to be left wanting when it comes to financials because none of them have the slightest clue as to what figure Levy would find acceptable even as a starting point for negotiations. The trouble with most media sources is that they provide the brush strokes but most are incapable of providing any detail to the picture. The telegraph article was quite long but didn't provide anything substantial - merely rehashing all that's gone before. It looked more like a favour to Kane and Man city than an article - certainly not objective. If there was a conversation where any 'promises' were made I'm sure any businessman especially Levy would have added 'for the right price'
As an aside. At the very least, you'd think that Kane would be able to produce some evidence of the "permission" that the club granted him to return from holiday a week late. I can't imagine that something like that would be left as just a phone call with no subsequent confirmation. (#makingitallupastheygoalong)It's all speculation and aimed at creating 'news'. Add that to so called 'insider' info (media directed) and you create this melting pot of bad vibes...
Which creates clicks and advertising revenue.
Noone has a clue whats going on apart from those directly involved.
And, further to add, the only deal that is factual and exists is the one both parties signed. The rest, in my uninformed opinion, is spurious conjecture
And you still can, with our blessing, if anyone actually pays the going rate. How is it so hard to understand?Manchester City’s bid understood to be £125m in total – but Daniel Levy is refusing to even discuss what would be a new British record deal. Harry Kane has thrown down the gauntlet to Daniel Levy to make good on an understanding that he could leave Tottenham Hotspur if the club failed to win a trophy or finished outside the top four last season.
It really is. One would almost have thought that the person who wrote it was his agent. That isn't an article.
It's a press release.
Appalling
If there's anything which hurts and deeply insults us possibly more than anything, it's Kanes obvious determination to get away from us as quickly as he possibly can. He has no desire to play for us ever again. If he could get his move today, he'd be off up the motorway tonight.
Fuck. That.
.
Fabio is identifying the targets though now, not Levy.Up until now Harry Kane has been a marvellous servant of the club and I don't resent him doing what he thinks is best for himself.
If he stays for another season, fine. If he stays for the remainder of his career, great, he will be a Spurs legend forever! If he goes, well I hope Levy and Patrici do better with the £150 m that Levy will screw out of Citeh, than he did with the Gareth Bale money.
