Harry Kane has warned Tottenham that they cannot afford any more slip-ups after handing momentum to Arsenal in the top-four race. The England captain says Spurs' fate is still in their own hands given they host their rivals in the north London derby next month, but thinks they will have to win all five of their remaining games this season to seal the final Champions League place.

I just don't see us winning all 5 remaining games, especially with Liverpool being one of the 5 we have to play.

"To only get one point from those two games [Brighton and Brentford] is disappointing," Kane told Standard Sport. "We're running out of games in terms of dropping points.

"There are five games left and we feel like we are pretty much going to have to win all of them to get that spot. We are more than capable of doing that, we believe in that and that is what we'll try and do."

Kane may be confident that this inconsistent Spurs side can end the season with five straight wins, but it is a tall order. After hosting Leicester this weekend, Conte takes his team to Anfield before the north London derby. Tottenham end the season against Burnley and Norwich.

"Is it still in our hands? Yeah," said Kane. "If we win the last five games we will be in the Champions League, so that is how we've got to look at it.

Heard it all before and I think I know how this story ends.

I would say play deeper where you have been playing out of your skin. The last two matches kane has played far too forward compared to when we were free scoring in the previous 6 or 7 games

It wasn't that he didn't try to come deep but whenever he dropped off he wasn't followed by the CB leaving the space behind. Instead they just looked to cut off his passing lanes from midfield and held their line. We had no width meaning they could just defend the width of the 18 yard box with no other issues to contend with. no width from the WB's are the reason he's become less effective the last couple of games, as teams have just narrowed up and congested the middle.

100% You could see it from the very first minute of the Brighton game - they put a man in front and a man behind him, which cut off the passing lanes. They were more than happy for us to move the ball out wide because they knew there was very little chance of our wingbacks causing them any problems. That’s why it was so frustrating that Conte never changed the system at any point. Exactly the same thing happened against Brentford. We’ve been found out and seemingly have no plan B right now if things aren’t going well.

Always love when they act like it’s nought to do with them and it’s like they can’t influence things.

Same with the whole “I need to leave to win things”. Fact is in last few years we have been in finals, semi finals and in good positions in the league and not capitalised.

Very much over it.

Who’d have thought Kane + a couple of good players a whole pile of shite are struggling to secure top 4!

It’s a good job the fourth best side in the league have a very small squad and are doing very well in Europe!

I really hate this sort of commentary/PR from players. The last two performances were a fucking joke. Meaningless words.

After last summer, he's still on thin ice for me and although I'm probably in the minority on that (I hold a grudge big time), I wish he'd just do his talking on the pitch and the dressing room, not in the fucking press.

I listened to 5live briefly earlier and although they were talking about the City vs Real game, they still managed to shoehorn in a chat about Kane going to City.
All this sort of shite from him does is keep the debate going.

Harry Kane making these comments does make me laugh at times, it's like he isn't part of the failings.

Kane and others need to be much more consistent and get on with the job.
