Got to agree with the posters above, Kudus and Orban, plus a CB (probably be Schuurs) with the Kane fee.
I’d not seen Cherki until I saw his name listed above, he’d be a decent Kudis alternative, and Marcos Leonardo as an Orban alternative.
Douglas Luiz (if Hojbjerg leaves).

I should caveat that by saying I’d prefer Sutalo to Schuurs, and would be looking at if a deal could be done with Perisic going the other way, if we are also getting someone like Kudus to give us additional dynamism in the wide areas.

No chance cherki comes to us. Generational talent

I love how a game can draw a conclusion as if that's how all our games will go. This is one of the tougher teams to break down so I wouldn't read too much into it. Another forward would certainly help but if we played Orban and struggled to break a team down do we default to asking for another signing? He could have struggled just as much today so let's not make him out to be the answer. He would need time and patience.

I completely agree with you - don't thihk Brentford away is the best measure of our forwards - but I still think we absolutely need to sign another forward.

We basically had noone to bring on for Rich today and Veliz is clearly seen as a long term project.

I get what you’re saying but the wingers are 100% a problem and I can see it persisting. They’ve looked completely ineffective (other than Solomon and Perisic, who ironically won’t be starters) in pre-season and it continued today. Loads of people predicted this would be the case too, it’s clear that neither Son or Kulusevski are suited. It’s 100% their job to hold the width and beat the fullback all game long with inverted fullbacks offering little width and there’s not a single person on here that can tell me they can do that with a straight face, it’s just not the case. Striker for Son, 8/10 for Kulu and get 1 or 2 proper wingers in. We will badly regret it if we don’t

Saw something about the amount of goals Furuhashi scored for Celtic last year, and over 90% of them were inside the box. A CF in Ange’s system doesn’t appear to need to be as involved in build up play. It’s all about getting into the box, finding space, and getting a shot away, on target to work the keeper as a minimum.
Maybe that’s where Orban perhaps does fit the style. His highlights reel shows him tee up shots in tight spaces, but with venom and accuracy surprisingly.
It’s a description of aguero.
orban looks like a striker in that mould.
go get him

It's far too early to make that judgement when the system will take time to evolve

I think Levy has broken the fan base to the point he is just hated, his actions now are almost irrelevant to many.
Totally agree, it almost feels like recent events have taken him past the point of no return. Too many mistakes that when put together, would be very hard to look past

The system is clear, it’s exactly the same one he used at Celtic and we need proper wingers for it. Son and Kulusevski are not proper wingers, Son is a wide forward/striker and Kulusevski is a wide 10. If the window closes with the two of them as our starting wingers we’re going to have a tough season, I’ll say it right now. They will be a bigger problem in this system than any lack of form for Richy, they offered him absolutely zero service today which is criminal with how much ball we had

I agree. They need to be consistently running at the fullback and taking them on, both inside and out. Can't be pondering on the ball and then turning back inside 9 times out of 10.

Looked okay that half but not blown away. Think there’s better ways to use that rumoured 30m. Two pacey direct wingers will be more important. Maybe he can do that job but not convinced.
