But Gica was actually top quality, i remember him at PSV but lord knows how or what channel that would have been on, Eurosport maybe? Anyhow's i remember just how stupidly good he was there and couldn't believe it when we signed him.

He was a decent player ( for us) who only played 20 odd games , lets not turn him into a world beater.

One good season with us and then we sold him for a profit to one of the big clubs in Spain-thank god we don't do that anymore :shifty:

He was the only thing stopping the defence getting torn to shreds most weeks in that team. At the time I think I was as upset when he legged it as I was Klinsmann

He was a very good player indeed. Just before we signed him he came out in the press saying he didnt want to come to us(!) and must have had his arm twisted. The Romania '94 World cup team was excellent- didnt they make the semi finals? He was top quality but only lasted a season or so- probably because the prospect of having to play alongside David Kerslake and Stuart Nethercott was even more terrifying than what awaits him in the showers of a Romanian prison...

I remember in an interview he did not long after we signed him saying that he made a massive mistake joining us and wanted to move on, had no respect for him after that

He was supposed to protect the famous five under Ardiles. Dumi didn't last too long under Francis.

Exactly, he was a fantastic player, one of the best around at the time. Sorry to hear about his recent troubles, but hey, at least Becali has a new cellmate.
