weren't the last good odds people were taking a chance on something like 9/4?

has something changed info wise? or is it just bets on him to go RM moving the market?

advice needed pls as if it drifts out even further i may double up. cheers

Anybody seen these quotes by Barnett:

There is now genuine concern at Spurs that Bale won’t return to training. Significantly, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett was quoted in Spanish newspaper AS today saying that the Wales international may not appear.
He said: “Bale is very upset with Villas-Boas for what he said in Monaco [that the player is going nowhere] and is considering not even going to training this

Seriously - WTF! Read more:

I really hope we don't give into this absolutely disgraceful behaviour from Barnett. He's clearly telling Bale not to train now.

I got it at 9/2 last week (Bale staying) But it seems like everyone jumped on it after Mystery's info and since then the price has come down.

Still 7/2 isn't bad considering.

He's already had a lengthy ban for his part in the Ashley Cole case. IF these are true he obviously fancies another enforced holiday.

Outrageous if true. What could we feasibly do in response? anyone know our legal rights?

Hope they've fabricated these quotes if not the club needs to have a very stern word with Barnett. I honestly don't see why Gareth doesn't sack him; he's misguiding him so much it's unreal.

It does say:
When contacted by Standard Sport this morning, Barnett denied speaking to the Spanish paper. However, he refused to guarantee that Bale will be at the training ground tomorrow.

I'm not sure what Legal recourse we could pursue....but if Bale refuses to train we can obviously fine him - which is a drop in the ocean to him, lets be honest.

He's in breach of his contract if he refuses to train isn't he?

I really hope we keep him now no matter what. I am sick to the back teeth of footballers and their agents behaving like this, and its such a pivotal moment for us as well as a Club moving forward.

Jesus Marca make me sick, honestly this isn't journalism it's bullying.

Whatever happened to the media reporting facts? What's more worrying is that there seems to be a thirst for speculation from the average reader and they'll buy into anything.

What you will probably find is that all the ITKs are correct about the Bale deal to an extent:

JJ will be right in that we have internally agreed what a suitable remuneration package would be and communicated this to Madrid and hence he is certain Bale will go.

Mystery is probably right that commercially we are putting out there that there will be no-deal, as it protects our sponsorship.

LLM and Grey Fox are also probably correct in that we have been supplied with no proof of funds so to a certain extent we are treating Real's offer as bluster. This was also backed up by Wishkah to an extent iirc.

We probably haven't received any offers for Bale but that doesn't mean that negotiations haven't taken place. It just appears that no-one really knows what is going on 100 %.

From my perspective I think we would accept a suitable deal for Bale, but I just can't see one emerging and hence I can see a new fat juicy contract on the horizon.

Barnett got charged after the whole Ashley Cole saga in 2007. Im sure we will report him over this, atleast we should, and see if he end up in trouble after the FA looks at this.
