I'm trying to get my head around the article. Is it saying that Bale will come in for a £20 million windfall if Madrid fails to sign him?
If this article is true then it will have massive reverberations around football. Such a pre-contract surely breaks all UEFA rules and is therefore unlikely to be enforceable. If it was me I would just refuse to sell him. Such a contract is bad in so many ways, not least that is stops the selling club selling in a free market as the player turns everyone else down. This really makes me wonder about Modric, was such a deal in place there as well?

Is there a link? Didn't see it on their page.

Just said it on Sky Sports News

Edit- They said more that this but this is all I could find:
The Gareth Bale saga is nearing a conclusion as Sky Sports News reports that the Welshman is now on the verge of completing his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid. Nothing has been announced officially yet but it is thought that Bale is hopeful of finalising his move, and a world-record deal could go through today.

It might explain why Levy's been so confident about getting what he wants though? Short and curlies!

Sky Sources: Gareth Bale transfer to be confirmed later today

I was hoping it would go to Deadline Day but it looks like it won't happen. I hope this doesn't give any advantage to Arse-anal.

Figo signed a contract with Perez when under contract to Barcelona. But he had a release clause. If Madrid have signed something with Bale and Levy has proof, he's going to bum them raw tomorrow.

Hopefully we hear more on incomings after Bale is gone. We heard more after Caulker & Dempsey went. Hoping it'll fund a big signing cash flow wise.

I'm not too worried about that, because it would be a bit odd to announce it on such a big day for the club and they've said it will be announced about a thousand times this summer.

It just seems like an unnecessary distraction on the day of the NLD. Then again, so is the media circus. Fuck it, the game is more important!

Terrible move, last time this boy switched clubs, they didn't win a game in two seasons if I remember correctly.

Announcement today aswell? Wow! That's like the fifth announcement of Bale this week! You don't think that.... that... that Sky are making up rumors, do you? Would anyone actually do that, go on the internet and tell lies?

Seriously though, bold move of them to make up a rumour of deal agreed, on the last day of the Transfer Window.... NOT!
Of course it will happen today, or last resort announcement tomorrow.

It was meant to be confirmed yesterday, the day before that, the day before that so on. I'd be surprised if we announced it with NLD today, really would.

Yep! Doesn't make sense unless Levy's going to give an announcement today about our own incoming!
