Like the summer, Nuno would be only the first change of many. Personally I'd boot Don Fraudeone as well.

- Levy needs to decide the overarching vision, fans might not like that or have faith but he is the man with the Tottenham world in his hands and is who counts on the direction of the club. He simply must decide a path to go down and stick with it. But wanting "attacking football" is not enough - does that mean considered ultra technical possession, direct attacking, old fashioned wingplay stuff, high tempo, low tempo, high press, mid-block gegenpress... what? The detail is what is needed. With that the transfer policy/limits/parameters, youth policy, etc that the club operates under. We don't need vision about outcomes (eg. Top Four, Trophies, etc), we need vision about the process. Good process leads to good outcomes.

- We then need a DOF/someone in charge of the football operation who understands this, believes in it, oversees it all and can put the pieces in place. Not just some bog standard transfer guy.

- A Coach who fits how we want to play. Someone who is cutting edge at whatever aspect of the game we deem important (possession, pressing, etc).

- An academy set up (eg. Who is in charge at the moment, post-McDermott???) properly and ambitiously resourced and in tune with the clubs ethos and philosophy. Develops players for our style of play, has clear objectives - even if its to make money (eg. by building value via loans such as what Chelsea and other clubs do).

- A comprehensive recruitment network and ability to identify targets. Clear understanding of how the club wants to play, transfer policy, what sort of players we want and the requisite tools and qualities they need/we hold important, and build the target list from there.

- World class set ups in other departments - data, analysis, medical, coaching development and methodology, etc.

Changing manager might do a bit, likewise changing the players, throwing money at the obvious might help..... but really we need big ambitious structural reform at the end of the day in the whole of the footballing operation. That's the path to long term "success" and good outcomes.
People say Liverpool are wonderfully organised and have a plan, Michael Edwards recruitment etc.
So what, the main reason they are where the are is because of KLOPP.
When Klopp goes we will see what happens.
If your coach is not very good , your team won’t be good either. Ole gets by because his players can win him a game or two but they will win nothing this year. For a club among the biggest in the world that will be 4 seasons without a trophy.
I am quite sure that if we went for Rogers we would get him. Leicester starting to falter with a few injuries. He is ambitious and would jump given the chance. Don’t think Potter would at this time.

Now is the moment to pull the pin, Mason can do no worse than Nuno for the next 2 games then it’s an international break. 3 weeks potentially to bring someone in

Ppl saying he's wrong are probably ENIC accounts, as he would demand backing and is not afraid to stir the pot. A Levy nightmare right there.

Excellent manager and has proved himself a very good coach, too.

But, no, not the right fit for Spurs, in my opinion — and for the reasons you’ve documented, we have to be realistic. In 18 months’ time, he’d be out the door, and we’d be back at this same point, looking to rebuild. I say let’s just go on with that rebuild now and not pretend we’re something we’re not.

We don’t need a big-name manager. We need someone who is going to build a team because that’s what the club is. We won’t back Conte, we’re not interested in a one-season blitz that may or may not result in a trophy or two.

We’ve already started investing in younger players: Sarr, Gil, Skipp not to mention the likes of Romero and Royal are hardly finished articles. Appointing Conte, whether you want it or not, would just completely undo all that.

I’ve seen people say Spurs are going through an identity crisis, and then others back it up by suggesting Conte, ten Hag or Potter should be appointed. Says it all to me, we have no idea what we want to be.

Honestly think Eddie Howe could get us a top 5-6 finish.

All Eddie Howe or any other manager needs to do is show any sort of attacking threat and have a shot on target to be better than what it has been so far this season.

Its not the defeats that bother me, it's the manner of them.

Can't see him not being in charge for Everton. Would be stunned if his sacking is imminent.

Said it in the summer managerial hunt and will say it again - we are probably the only club to say no to a manager like Conte. It's ridiculous.

If he's had any intention to come at all, any money spent will be fucking worth it. He has the experience in the league, the credential to win silverware and the attitude/temperament to light some rockets up the asses of those who are non-committal softies. Other than Simone who's not available, he's the only one IMHO who could change the shit mentality of the squad and build them back from scratch to winners.

Someone said it well - any managers will want budget to buy players. We might as well let him spend of all the others.

Nuno first, then Kane (and anyone else not pulling 100% for the shirt) and then go from there. Sort of feel like caretaker makes the most sense right now to give the new guy the full refresh in the summer as I don’t see us moving those types of players in January. I’ve got no faith in Levy fading away so I’ll have to settle for that. Think that’s the bare minimum needed to start turn this train around.

All that matters is that we get someone who is a 'coach', first and foremost, not a manager or a trainer. Potter or Gallardo seem to fit that bill. Not sure about Conte. If I thought we could get Potter, I'd be fully emotionally bought in to that, but I don't. Gallardo's season finishes in December, I think, so it has to be him. Has to be. Doesn't it?

That last sentence is spot on. 5 wins and 5 defeats doesn’t sound disastrous for a fella coming into what Nuno inherited. But, bar Newcastle, we’ve had varying degrees of fortune to win all the games we’ve won and we’ve deserved every battering we’ve gotten. The stats don’t lie, we’re lucky to be where we are and eventually results will properly catch up with performances. The manner of the defeats is unacceptable and we’ve now had 5 from 7 including two pastings at home.

Howe is a much better manager than he’s given credit for. He does struggle a bit to organise his defence but his sides play proper football. His reputation has taken a massive hit because he stayed at Bournemouth a season too long. Personally, of the realistic options available, I’d have him in the morning.

I just don't want him to get the Everton game and for us to miraculously pull out a win and the inevitable is further delayed.
