Potter was always my first choice and I was so underwhelmed by Nuno...but of course you always give the new man a chance despite reservations.

Was so fucking obvious Potter was a better fit for us.

Some of the footballing decisions made by the Club are truly shocking and reek of incompetence.

So many people looked down their noses at others who would have been happy with Potter, primarily because they thought we'd get somebody like Nagelsmann or Conte. I never thought we had any real chance with Nagelsmann and that Conte would explode within a couple of months.

You just feel the potential upside of Potter is huge. As in if it comes together, with some smart recruitment and he gets it right you could be fighting for titles.

You look at the way Brighton play, create loads of chances and tight at the back.

With Nuno, where is the upside? There is no chance he will get us even into the top 4, such a rank decision by the club.

Are we ignoring previous seasons when in 18/19 and 19/20 Wolves had 5th best defensive record in the league and their xGA were even better? Players like Coady, Saiss and Doherty definitely weren't PL level before Nuno. Or 3rd best record in La Liga in 14/15 and 21 less goals conceded than season before?

Yeah, such an easy way to complain about Levy. Of course Transfermarkt can be wrong about that but I don't see any players from that agency that had past at Spurs.
Also not surprising that this came from Matt Law who hates him :ROFLMAO: "Risking his flourishing reputation", what does it even mean?
In every other big club in the world he would be sacked after bad results, not only at Spurs. Buying good striker at Brighton was the most obvious transfer to be made in the whole Premier League, still didn't happen
Sorry but what does stats 7 years ago in Spain matter in English football in 2021. Football moves on, all about what have you done lately. If we looked at last year then it was obvious he was burnt out and didn’t have any new ideas. He probably needed a break, Spurs insisted on hiring him.

How we're playing this season is absolutely no surprise to anyone who saw Wolves last season.

I'd say more a case of 'who else was left?' A few totally unrealistic chases and then surprisingly people aren't that fussed knowing that they're way down the list of preferences which probably indicates they're not part of any long game.

What is funny though is that the fanbase is now screaming about good football. Not 12 months ago most fans, and SC was no different, were sat around the campfire chanting Fuck Possession.... Fuck pretty Football... All about results.... and becoming fully paid up cult members because Mourinho had snuck us to top spot 6-8 weeks into the season.

If Nuno, doing nothing different, steals a few 1-0's on the bounce in the next few weeks to get us within touching distance of somewhere, most of you shut up :D

It seems like we've started to talk about his replacement. Damn, that was quick. Anyways if we sack him I can only see us hiring Martinez or some other asshole -tier international coach. There isn't anyone available.

edit: Also the Barca job is going to be available soon

Watford just sacked their manager.

‘The Board feels recent performances strongly indicate a negative trend at a time when team cohesion should be visibly improving.’

Sounds familiar?

This is a really good point.

People don't want negative football and the real issue with it is that if you play negative football it HAS to be winning football. Play good stuff and you will get a far more forgiving fanbase but even then only for so long .

When I watched that mourinho team last season it never once felt like it was sustainable. You can't go through the season giving up that much possession and territory and eek out these narrow victories week in and week out.

With nuno it's worse. He isn't exactly parking the bus like jose but the team looks clueless in attack and at best average in defence.

I've said for a while. Only kane and son hitting form saves him. It did mourinho but he has every bit the look of a dead man walking right now.

Well, that's the thing, isn't it? If the results are there then to an extent we as fans can put up with not being entertained, but right now we're getting neither results nor entertainment so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the pitchforks are out.

I think that from Paratici point of view like Gattuso he is short term appointment and was hired to do 2 things
> to get us fit again, using modern sports science
>to sort our defence with any available players and in flexible system.
For both he was decent candidate and for both he was better candidate than Potter.
He is obviously failing tho.

The weird thing is that if we win today, we're 2 points ahead of 'the mighty' Arsenal and 2 points off second!

Familiar? Yes, Watford do this every few months

I know Watford go through managers like it’s nothing. But their reasoning is valid and it applies to us.

We need to see some improvements from Nuno as the team seems like it’s getting worse.

Massive game today.

They'll have the new bloke lined up and in soon too. Their owners love a sacking.

The thing is no one is denying that playing like this that you can get lucky. If the oppo don't take any of their chances and we score from a set-piece we can nick a game here and there. The point is that its not sustainable. When you look at our statistics we aren't "earning" points in the sense of creating chances and denying them to the opposition. Over the course of a season that just is not going to end well. Our statistics are beyond awful and suggest that we're a team that without the bit of luck we've had that we should be at the foot of the table. The statistics tell you where you will be over the course of the season given an evening out of the luck. That is a real concern.

This thread is just relentless doom mongering, just so much negativity all the time I find it personally quite depressing.

We've only had 6 league games, with plenty of disruptions by injuries, omissions due to internationals, and our star striker not interested. Nuno can't be expected to know the best formation and team from day one. Who knows, he might never get it right, but for now he's our manager and we should do everything to support him for the best of the team. Game-by-game, week-by-week we should see some improvements.

COYS, let's smash Villa today!
