Potter if persuadable.
Gallardo
Conte.
ETH

The others are underwhelming. we need someone who can get a spark out of this team while developing an up and coming class.

If ETH and Potter wouldn't come last time, they sure as hell won't be coming now. Gallardo has never managed in the EPL, so he's got no chance and Conte is a train wreck waiting to happen.

Potter..? I don't know why but my jury is still very much out on him. I always think of the Hans Christian Anderson story 'The Kings New Clothes' when people suggest him. Anyway, I'm not sure he'd be that interested in leaving such a nice cushy job as Brighton.

Yep definitely something rotten with this group of players.
If we had a decent leader in the squad, he would have grabbed all the players on Sunday at the final whistle in the centre circle and made them listen to the boos and the reaction and ask each of them, are they happy with this reaction, do you think you are putting in your all for this club? Then made them walk to each end and applaud the fans for coming to watch that pile of rubbish.

TBF they are so slow, in BBC time Nuno has yet to be appointed Spurs manager. They're talking about his job at Wolves.
This is very true. But also, if it's on the BBC there's truth in it - whatever the conspiracy theorists tell you.

What is his role, not an out and out DM not great in possession for a cm, he doesn’t create and he has been the main stay in a terrible midfield for the last 18 months. That not all his fault obviously. Imo he is a very good squad player but if we are to progress we need better

The problem is, like Lo Celso, he's being judged/praised because of how he performed for his country.

International football has no comparison to the pace of the Premier League. It's a completely different beast!

This isn't the thread for this, though. I'm not his biggest fan, he isn't as good/effective as some believe. But Hojbjerg is far from our biggest problem & there's many, many players who need to be shown the door before him.

Now. I'm off to listen to some Radiohead to cheer myself up.

He cost about 12m quid, what are you expecting?
He's worth that for his leadership qualities alone but I suppose, this is for another thread.

That makes me want to vomit.

Why it needs to be done now with the right man coming in asap.

Still plenty season left to close the growing gap between arse and ham football clubs.
As they've both definitely overtaken us in terms of just pure playing strength, they'd both smash us 9 times out of 10 now I believe.
What a fast decline!

I was picking up on this point specifically, which isn't true of Conte at least. Last time he took any team mid season was over a decade ago. At Chelsea they looked dodgy for a few games, got smashed by Arse, then turned it around.

I'll hold my hands up here. You were picking up on the correct part of my initial post.

I was seemingly wrong about Conte taking over a club half way through a season. I don't know if I was confused by the fact he was announced as Chelsea manager before the end of the 2016 season (to take over the following season), or whether I got him confused with Tuchel.

Apologies to yourself & @Guntz for dragging you into a needless conversation.

What he cost is irrelevant, he either is or isn’t good enough. He is ok as I said and has good qualities but skipp is a better DM than him and we need a better Cm to play along side him who is a better on the ball and can dictate the play PEH can’t do this or the DM role imo

As much as I try to see the positives in things and it's relatively early days. I have to agree. Still plenty of time for a rescue mission.

I just hope he is treated with a little dignity if / when he is sacked, as he's a lovely fella.

Love them or hate them, the new coach has a tough job. Some proper tossers within the ranks it seems.

That sort of shit doesn't happen in this day and age and nor should it. Phil Brown did something similar Hull and his players thought he was an idiot for it.

No one reacts well to public humiliation and no one likes someone who is perceived to be grandstanding to a crowd at their expense. That's how something like that would come across.

There should have been very harsh words in that dressing room at full time and I suspect there was. Wasn't there also rumours of punches being thrown? That's good enough for me. I saw players that tried and cared yesterday. They were just set up in a way that stopped them making the game competitive.

That’s exactly my position, too. It surely has to be possible to reach one of those outcomes?

Seriously who gives a flying fuck about West Ham. We just need to get our own house in order
Completely agree, I’ve actually stopped even looking at the league table tbh. Until we sort ourselves out there is no point. Once we have, if we do, then we can start thinking about top 4 etc.

I don't know about punches being thrown, but I would hope some of those players were tearing strips off the others, the shirkers. If I knew that happened, I'd be quite encouraged to be honest.

He can't stay now either way.

Having it leaked like that In the press with all this speculation going all day they gave somehow stripped him of any remaining authority he had.
