I'm off on holiday on Thursday and I'm looking to get a couple of football books to keep me occupied.

Anyone got any recommendations?

If you haven't read it already I highly recommend 'I am Zlatan'. Fascinating read.

Personally, I like the Secret aFootballer books which give a good insight into the game but would similarly endorse the Zlatan book although a little disappointed since i found out a lot of it was made up.. Also love The Ghost of White Hart Lane which is about Jimmy White.

Just read The Nowhere Men a few months ago.

Great insight into how clubs are run from a scouting perspective.

Pirlo's is entertaining and very easy to read.
As mentioned Zlatan's is entertaining.

I read those two after reading Ledley's. Obviously LOVE Ledley King, but his book read as very cookiecutter and dull compared to those other two.

Garrincha's biography is incredible - a blend of complete genius, incredible highs and heartbreaking lows.

John White - but agree, The Ghost of WHL is a fantastic book.

Also The Numbers Game is excellent and very interesting on how statistics cast doubt on many of the accepted 'truths' about football.

Inverting the Pyramid by Jonathan Wilson is terrific if you're into the history of football and the development of tactics (although I think he devotes a bit too much of the book to the very early development of football).
