She couldn't do anything about it imo. The new rule says it's a pen, not the old one.
These penalties for handballs are driving me insane.
But this one is, by the letter of the new law, clear enough. Yellow card seemed very harsh though.
Yeah even accepting that it's a clear pen, which it was, what can the Japanese player actually do to stop it from happening? Just as weird as the card for goalies who step an inch off the line for penalties.Yellow card is very unnecessary imo
I wonder how many games results will be altered cos of VAR next season. half of them?
Is it going to be the season that we pretend in future didnt happen, and we step out of the shower for the start of the 20/21 season with VAR PTSD masquerading as amnesia.
Yellow card is very unnecessary imo
Blocking a goalbound shot with your arm, intentional or not and from whatever distance, has been an offence for as long as I can remember. This one only might feel controversial because of all the other far less clear ones we've seen given recently. Can someone explain to me why its a penalty and a yellow card when the ball gets booted at your hand from a few yards away? I really don't get it. What are players supposed to with their arms exactly?

Yet another example where VAR exposes the law to be total shit. It's required by the laws since the shot was on goal.

Everyone on here would be livid if Spurs didn't get a PK for this.
I understand the new rules but they're shit imo. The players arm is down by her side and the distance between the player shooting and the defender was so small, literally impossible to get ur arm out of the way.
But her arm wasn't at her side....
I understand your point but the defender is making her body "bigger" by extending her arms. Whether her right arm is farther away is inconsequential.Yea it is, look at her right arm, that's more away from her body than her left. Is her arm supposed to be glued to her waist?
