Pushed the ball forward to hard a few times that he just was never going to catch, but when he does run with the ball he keeps in under control.

I don't know how many times he has played down the left, but looked comfortable down there.

I won't claim to have ever seen this lad but I like this kind of signing. Could be good, cheap back-up to Emerson, with a chance of superceeding him but if he doesn't, it's no great loss as he won't cost much.
Do it!

He doesn’t even start for Derby so why would he be back up for Royal?

He might be one for the u21’s but he is miles off being a 1st team squad player. We need to sign quality that could go straight into our first team.

Yeah, but we've got higher priority positions at the moment imo. So if we can get this lad in cheap, why not?
Emerson is doing pretty well and is only 22, so while we've still got Doherty (whatever your views on him), that's rwb covered.
If we sell Doherty, I'd keep Royal as first choice and take a young, potential back up.
I think the big money should be spent elsewhere in the squad at present.

Also, remember that Lennon was bought as a youth prospect until Routeledge got injured. Lenny got a start and never looked back.
Sometimes it's worth taking a punt and a risk, especially when we've got positions like midfield and striker that need urgent attention.

Not saying he is not worth a punt. But not even close to playing for a Spurs first team. Lennon was playing regularly for Leeds when he joined us.
