I doubt Utd will bother putting a proper side out for the Eurooopla.

Struggle? They might win the Europa yet!!

To me and I'm sure to Fergie as well, that's a failure. They're only in it because they couldn't get through their group in the Champions League. That's not good enough, especially looking at the strength of the group. It would be no more than a save of face.

I'd imagine a lot of people would consider winning the Europa League as a successful European campaign.

No, it was clearly a joke. That was a poor attempt at styling it out!

I don't think it was clearly a joke, but maybe it was to you lot. I think it's probably down to the fact it's a shit joke that it wasn't clear to me. I normally like my jokes to be amusing in some way.

Walking out of a press conference? What a tosser. If he had any style he would take off his jacket to reveal a jetpack and fly out of their while humming the tune to The Great Escape.

So much funnier considering the events in Basle... not struggling Fegie? Great manager, but its stuff like this that makes you think tosser.

That being said, whilst I don't think this question was worth a walk out, the media in general are a total crock.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson cuts short a news conference after appearing to take offence when a journalist puts it to him that the top two Premier League teams have "struggled in Europe" this season.

Can't understand it myself, its a pretty fair question. None of them have inspired confidence. I think all of the PL teams in this years CL will go out as soon as they face a half decent team. In fact, I wonder what odds you'd get on none going past the QF's?

Well, I guess the truth was too hard for him to bear and he needed to go home...

It was a stupid question. United have the joint most points in their group and the best goal difference. Fergie being in his twilight years probably just thinks 'I don't need to bother with this shit'. But then, I sympathise more with fergie than bloody journos.

The results haven't been amazing but they're hardly struggling. They will top the group.

Very successful people often have massive egos to match. Fergie is one of those people.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

The media in this country are generally woeful. The sports section ( isn't it called toy town and ridiculed by those in the profession? ) are the most pathetic. Full of self important twats, too keen on giving their unqualified opinion on how these top managers should be running their side! If they had the answers and the credentials it would be them earning 6m a year to solve such problems.

Sunday supplement is a riot in this respect. Always worth a look for a giggle, listening to fat bastards who didn't play to any standard, argue about where champions league and world cup winners are going wrong!!! Yeah ok Samuel and co, whatever you say chaps!
