To me and I'm sure to Fergie as well, that's a failure. They're only in it because they couldn't get through their group in the Champions League. That's not good enough, especially looking at the strength of the group. It would be no more than a save of face.

Can't understand it myself, its a pretty fair question. None of them have inspired confidence. I think all of the PL teams in this years CL will go out as soon as they face a half decent team. In fact, I wonder what odds you'd get on none going past the QF's?

It was a stupid question. United have the joint most points in their group and the best goal difference. Fergie being in his twilight years probably just thinks 'I don't need to bother with this shit'. But then, I sympathise more with fergie than bloody journos.

The results haven't been amazing but they're hardly struggling. They will top the group.

Very successful people often have massive egos to match. Fergie is one of those people.

The media in this country are generally woeful. The sports section ( isn't it called toy town and ridiculed by those in the profession? ) are the most pathetic. Full of self important twats, too keen on giving their unqualified opinion on how these top managers should be running their side!
