Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson cuts short a news conference after appearing to take offence when a journalist puts it to him that the top two Premier League teams have "struggled in Europe" this season.

Can't understand it myself, its a pretty fair question. None of them have inspired confidence. I think all of the PL teams in this years CL will go out as soon as they face a half decent team. In fact, I wonder what odds you'd get on none going past the QF's?

Wow, that's truly pathetic. Wish I could say it was a new low but sadly it isn't.

More likely just soiled his latest batch of Tena man size and was off to the loo to change them.

All he had to say was -
I don't think we're struggling, we're top of the group. We haven't won all our games but this is the CL not the auto windscreen.
City first season in CL.
Chelsea their managers first season
Arsenal are just scum and deserve to lose every game they play in. And their manager is a French pedo, and I don't know what's worse being French or a paedo, hang them all!

Everyone would have been happy. But no he has to be a ****. Would rather Harry the media darling any day of the week.

That's one reason I hate him and United. No need to walk off and laugh it off. What a ****

Sour old git. Wouldn't be out of place on the Harry Enfield show.

Yeah a lot of people get on Harry's case because of his verbal diarrhoea , but this behaviour is pathetic.

Fair enough the media are total scum but I've seen many other managers get it a lot worse (like Villas Boas is at the moment) and stand their ground.

It was a stupid question. United have the joint most points in their group and the best goal difference. Fergie being in his twilight years probably just thinks 'I don't need to bother with this shit'. But then, I sympathise more with fergie than bloody journos.

You kidding.

Draws at home to Benfica and Basel is way below par for them. Fergie is a twat.

The results haven't been amazing but they're hardly struggling. They will top the group.

Very successful people often have massive egos to match. Fergie is one of those people.

No they won't. If Benfica beat Gelatu (or whatever they're called) in the last match then they top the group no matter what Utd do as Benfica have the better head to head record on away goals.

So they're inability to win more than just 1 home game in the group stage means they could get Barca, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the next stage.

However, they will probably get Apoel, cos they're Utd.

Oh, I got confused re: the goal difference. There's a weird rule isn't there?

I wonder if Fergie still thinks they haven't struggled in Europe this season?
