So you would be willing to take a risk on him repeating past mistakes which could lead to a similar points deduction for Spurs, potentially costing us a title or CL? Not to mention years of damage to our reputation as a club...

What reputation? We’re a clown car of a club.

The corruption was through the whole club, not just one individual. I can guarantee under Levy that this would not happen with us. He is extremely thorough and nothing is finalised without his signature so I am very confident this wouldn't happen at Spurs.
This. For all of Levy's faults, he isn't is reckless with the accounts. His mistake was not doing better due diligence on FP before hiring him. But even that, I can somewhat give him a pass. But now this latest crisis has happened, there's only one course of action for me--FP has to go. But as usual, I'm sure we'll dither and dally.

This summer yes but the summer before when we were originally interested then Rubin wanted 20. He then went to Dinamo Batumi which is where Napoli got him from. One can only assume we weren’t looking for another LWF last summer. I agree it’s a big big shame but can’t blame Paratici for not getting him considering he’s the one who marked him out in the first place.
Interesting. Thanks for the info! I'm not blaming paratici but given we like an opportunistic signing you'd have thought the forced move to Batumi would have had us sniffing around even harder with the likelihood of a reduced price.

I like Gil but Kvara is on another level and it was pretty clear there was a gulf as well. Gil might get there but Kvara is already one of the brightest talents in world football and Gil remains a potential prospect.

Tough times for Levy first he has to deal with a "world class" manager who he's paying 15 million a year to that can't seem to coach decent football and now he has to deal with Paratici bullshit too.

He's probably thinking he should have never listen to outside influences and just kept on his path.

Probably thinking that he wished he’d done Biology instead of Maths when he had that pesky A level decision ?

Just noticed we’ve got a thread in the transfer section called “Fab’s little black book”, it’s literally the thing that’s brought him down, a little black book. Amused me given the current news.

Funny how all of sudden everyone has come over all moralistic but go in the takeover thread and the same people are twerking for investment from an oil state with an appalling human rights record ?☕️

This. For all of Levy's faults, one thing he isn't is bad with spreadsheets. His mistake was not doing better due diligence on FP before hiring him. But even that, I can somewhat give him a pass. What exactly do you think we would be able to sack Paratici for?

Is it worse to have him or DL around the club? Who is causing more harm?! Don't for a minute think it's ok if he's been involved in some criminal activity so please don't think that as I'm not spending the day debating that. I'm just stating how much he's done for the club since joining and people are calling for his head before they've even had the chance to appeal.
I guess it comes down to how involved/pro active he was in the illegal activities and if he is bringing these practices with him.

There seems to be a lot of references to criminal activity , the ban as far as I can see is from the Italian Football Federation which is a sporting body not a criminal authority.
When Paratici appears before an Italian court of law and is found guilty then we can accuse him of criminal activity.

Anyone asking for him to go or saying the club should get rid are absolutely bonkers. The guy has done a phenomenal job behind the scenes and he continues to overhaul old systems to try and give us the correct foundations to progress as a 'big club'. He has brought in some superb players and the players we are targeting in this window are also all very good. The guy may have a slightly dodgy past, but rest assured he's been first class since he joined us and apart from the manager fiasco soon after his arrival and the arrival of Emerson, I really can't fault him.
I could argue that the Emerson purchase for a back 4 defense was a good purchase. You can’t fault Emerson’s defensive capabilities.

Have spurs commented on this at all yet?

No. But if you head to the shop there is a new shirt. FP behind bars on the front and a list of the iffy deals on the back.

available in blue and white. All proceeds go to “Free our Fab” appeal.

price £299.99

I'd say it's pretty certain that whatever he did was on instructions from above. Why would he be involved in dodgy accountancy off his own back? Add to that that he'll likely be under the microscope for the forseeable and I'd say the chances of a repeat offence are nil.

Where’s the Amazon doc when you need it, Levy bungs some cash to paratici, arranging private flight to bahamas, fake mustache, shades in tow, would have been priceless, so much better than that PR borefest we got…

They’re not charged with bad dealings - they’re charged with cooking the books.
Which is why it’s strange that Paratici is punished so severely. He’s the DOF, he negotiates transfers, he doesn’t work in the Juventus financial department. He doesn’t write the accounts.
