I have a feeling that we'll get some clarity pretty soon.
I should add that this isn't based on anything i've heard, my mum read my coffee grounds, you know, actually being fucking peasants you probably don't, it's a thing where you have a Greek coffee and turn the cup upside down for a minute, let the grounds and gravity do their thing and then take a peek and 'read' them. My mums an expert. Or as they are called in London Greek a "cor blimey mate really innit"........... anyway there was a bit that looked remarkably like a minge and on the other a very small man. She ummed and ahhhd, turned the cup thrice, banged it back down and said "that **** Levyopulous done his dillydallygence innit"

So that's where I get my feeling from.

And given how long it takes the fuckers to do due dilligence, "dillydallygence" is applying the hammer to the nail with remarkable accuracy.

I’m indifferent to the delay in Conte’s sacking thus far. It could be argued that we’re doing things on our terms, rather than on Conte’s (who clearly wanted to be sacked immediately). Also, gives us a bit of time to plan next steps for rest of season.

But it needs to be tied up by the time the international break finishes. So that when players return to Hotspur Way, there’s clarity on the situation. We could still finish in the top 4, so as clear a situation as possible for those efforts the better
I think we are just waiting for Conte return on his Ryanair ticket to really piss him off before the tin tack.

Or he went back to Italy at the start of the international break as he usually does as agreed by the club, levy and Paratici and he said they will work on the financials and paperwork for ending his contract 📑 which won’t be an issue but for him to sit tight in Italy whilst they sort out a replacement for now or summer and then announce the comms all at once.
Too much sense. Don’t want your sort around here.

So you're happy with how this is all panning out then?
It could have been dealt with more swiftly. It was getting obvious that Conte was getting wound up and wouldn’t last a couple of months ago, at least. The club could have asked Paratici to start putting out feelers then. The difficulty with that is that Paratici is just about Conte’s only wholehearted supporter left at the club.

Other than that, there isn’t any evidence yet that the club is doing anything out of the ordinary. It’s a search for a new manager. With the exception of lining up Mourinho for the day after Pochettino got sacked, they generally take time.

The only thing that is ratcheting up a sense of incompetence here is the pages and pages of increasingly hysterical posts, 90% of them pure speculation, each leading to a page of agreement and disagreement and embroidery, until pure fantasy starts to get confused with reality.

The problem isn’t the club hierarchy and chairman. They’re just doing what you do in a manager search - again. The problem is the overheated speculation from fans on this thread.

I think we also have to remember that the moment they announce Conte they have to also announce who will be looking after the first team. Atm they might not know as it’s very dependent on the next manager and whether they are coming in immediately etc. I doubt very much until that’s sorted we will hear anything at all.

I hope you’re not suggesting that the SC community likes at all to speculate? Pffff 😬

It’s been a week since the outburst and he’s still officially in post, whilst every journo speculates on our new manager. It’s a terrible look for the club. I do wonder who advises Levy from a PR perspective - or whether he just ignores advice. This wouldn’t happen at any other club. Shambles.
It's all about negotiating positions. The club need to watch what they say publicly so it doesn't lose them leverage and give Conte any reason to think a legal avenue would be advantageous if sacked. Conte needs to think that the club aren't planning on business as normal with him, and that the matter is serious.. so anything he gets monetarily, contractually, and any NDAs is a bonus.

Keeping mouths shut works for both parties. The record will be set straight soon enough.

Like signings, does it feel like the whole world knows Conte isnt coming back except the club?

Very much like when they went for Hansi Flick and everyone knew he was going to manage the national team.

I think they are lining up their ducks so that the sacking and the installment of the new/interim manager run together.

What's holding it up is whether or not the new permanent boss is willing to take over now or for the new season.

I think it is apparent that we were trying to get Tuchel in so we have had to move on our search in another direction.
