It’s starts with the training ground. It’s too nice and the pillows are too comfortable. We need to sell the training ground put the money towards players then train in the snow carrying logs Rocky IV style. That’s how we get back to the top.

I see SSN are giving a lot of what Conte said the treatment by running it on their yellow strap line.

I did say I’d be surprised if he were in charge for our next game but I’m starting to wonder just how soon it’ll happen. A couple of days or so to agree the terms of our parting?
Has someone been in your ear

He needs to stay! This is the fire our club needs…. Conte in!

Actaully watching teh interview is different in context to what is written.

Hes actually spot on but BUT, he's the one who picked those players and that BORING formation so he has to also shoulder the blame.

The reality is that he was never likely to succeed at Tottenham. It was a great personal error to take this job. Perhaps his ego wanted to succeed where Mourinho had failed.

The pattern of the club has been failure whoever was the Manager.

Wish him out but rest assured that nothing will change till ENIC leave.

I mean he’s not wrong with some of his comments but part of his 15m pa salary is to sort out this crap. Sick of hearing it tho now. He can take his hair glue with him and jog on.

Thanks for that nugget. I only wish someone else had posted it somewhere, anywhere on this site over the last 4 months or so. 😋

Thing is... Name me another club other than the rich clubs winning anything in the last 20 years. Other than Leicester, which was fishy as hell, no one. He'd have this moan at any club that didn't give him a successful squad on a platter. Hell, he turns into a **** when he does!

All this "story of tottenham", even when he was at Chelsea. Arrogant arsehole.
But it perpetuates the 'failure' of Tottenham and the narrative that we are merely 'bottle jobs' when it counts.

Whether you believe that to be true of course is open to debate but the wider viewpoint and neutrals looking inward, shit sticks and it's smeared all over Levy/ENIC's hands.

I can completely appreciate why one would want Conte out. I personally think he is very clearly done here and I think he knows it to as do the players. But pretty much everything he is saying is true about the club. It’s absolutely fine to want Conte gone but also agree with what he’s saying because he’s not saying it to “save his skin” because his skin doesn’t need saving. Failing at Spurs is really not that big a deal because we have a failure mentality that runs from the head of the table all the way down to the players. I have read page after page on this very forum saying the same for years now ever since Poch and even before. Criticise Conte’s tactics, I’d agree with you, but that doesn’t mean what he’s saying in regards the ingrained mentality at the club isn’t 100% true. Until Levy et al leave things are just not going to change. It’s just refreshing to hear a manager actually say it for once regardless of how I feel about him.

I agree with Conte (in certain aspects) but dont agree we needed to hear it given that we pretty much all knew what was happening. What I dont agree with is the fact he needed to say it.

The fucker talks about winning cups but the two cup defeats this season were shambolic and that was down to his team selections and his approach.

I find it laughable he talks about winning when he is an expert in defending a 1-0 defeat

Levy has fucked up over the last 20 years, there is no denying that and unfortunately hiring Conte was also a fuck up from him. Never the right fit for us.

Yep, he's gone.

I do actually agree with a lot of what he's saying. He isn't taking any accountability himself which he should as he has definitely contributed to the results and performances this season.

Going in on the club and it's owners and ambition and mentality is a positive for me. Things need to change throughout the club or we will never truly compete.

Like you I agree with what he says and he isn't taking responsibility. I would be happier if he had shown some willingness to change things up and drop certain players etc to promote those with the deisre he seems to want. But he undermines his cause by constantly picking just a select few players.

I know it's a joke but bloody hell, it almost seems like many on here think the best quality for a spurs manager is to be bold enough talk shit about Levy and the club. Forget organising and inspiring a team, we just need someone who can roast the board every week.

Maybe we should hire a stand-up comedian next.

I'd rather Conte be successful and attack the problems with our ownership, but one of the two is better than neither.

It's not just "talking shit" about Levy, it's a laser-guided criticism that is right on the money. If Conte had whinged about Levy not getting him a birthday cake I'd have called him a prick. But this isn't that. What Conte said is 100% valid and highlights an issue that goes way beyond his tenure.

This has probably been mentioned and discussed before but you see chairmen/women and board members get votes of no confidence which can result in them getting the boot… is it different at football clubs as the board and Levy appear to be untouchable.
We are owned by ENIC of which there are only two owners: Levy and Lewis. Levy owns close to a third, Lewis over 2 thirds. So, a "vote" would mean nothing as the only people able to vote are those two, and Lewis can outvote Levy every time.

What it means for us, is the only way to get Levy out is to persuade Lewis to boot him or ENIC to sell. There are no other options.

All the 'protests', chants, banners in the world won't change that unless you have several Billion Pounds laying around.

Once again the press are too scared to call him out on his style of play, team selection, his substitutions and his seeming inability to adjust how we play in-game when the opposition manager switches their tactics. I genuinely think they are scared of him. I'm not saying that some of what he said isn't true but we still shouldn't be dropping the points we are dropping and getting knocked out the cup by the shit teams we have lost to. He is not making the best out of the squad we have and he will not accept that and I really wish someone would raise it at a press conference instead of letting him get away with it every time. This is a question I would like to hear asked to see what he would say: "There is a lot of talk among Tottenham fans on social media that the football played is negative and boring and that there is no need to continuously play three CBs and two holding midfielders in every single match. How would you answer this?"
The most telling part was when he was asked what changed between last season and now. Seemed clueless and then just blamed the mentality of the club.

Maybe more time on the training ground with him and that intense pre season combined with his struggles prepping for more than one game a week is a better indicator of what has gone wrong.

Cos the squad certainly improved from last season to now (bar Son's form).
