I mean what does Conte mean about players to win now? Who are these players that change that? Casimiro? Varane? Surely he knows these are unrealistic?
It’s only one man and his success allergic cohorts that have made these sort of signings “unrealistic”.

There is so much going on behind the scenes at the moment that people should take everything with a pinch of salt.

Will we be taken over? Will Levy remain in charge? Will Conte stay? Will Paratici stay? Will we sign anyone?

It's a big week and a huge 6 months for the club as it will finally be clear as to what the long term plan is.

If Conte and Paratici go and a project type manager comes in on a shoestring budget then you will know that Levy doesn't give a fuck about success as long as we all keep paying and filling that shiny new stadium to fill his pockets.

If Conte goes then unfortunately the probable appointment of Poch will appease enough fans to keep the heat off him to some degree. Many on here wouldn't be in favour of a Poch return I doubt but I'm sure a lot would take him back with open arms because they love the man and want to see exciting football again. I'm on the fence personally regarding a return as I love the man but I would be very wary of appointing an ex.

Again, that debate could be redundant as there are literally 500 things that could happen depending on the points highlighted at the beginning of this post.

I'll be honest, I'm just tired of it all. I just want Levy out of the club as quick as possible because although he wants success, unfortunately we will never achieve it under him. Conte is the right person to keep challenging him to improve the club long term and we just have to hope that the takeover happens or VL continues to pressure a certain someone.

The moneyquote from Di Marzio is:

‘The news I can tell you with certainty is that Antonio Conte will leave Tottenham at the end of the season. There was no spark, his contract is expiring and the club has not asked him for a renewal.

The club does not like the frequent jibes. Conte wants players to win, while the club prefers to trade, the feeling with the club has not clicked. His family, among other things, has remained in Italy.”

I have said all along it’s levy not wanting to renew and not Conte. Doesn’t surprised me.

I don’t understand why Poch would want to come back all to be honest. He know what levy is like. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns us down or we look elsewhere should the worse happen and Conte goes.

Because he loves the club, feels he has unfinished business and has been in daily contact with Levy since he left.

The thing is that DiMarzio didn't present this as news or a breaking story. He discussed conte in the context of his podcast, which Romano does as well, just discussing what his latest view on any given issue is. If there were actually any news, he would be whipping out an article but he was just spinning already known information. It's the fault of aggregators for picking this crap up and presenting it as news, and of people for seeing one liners from aggregators and taking them as gospel because they put a bloody gold medal next to it. Even though it's DiMarzio has already been forced to walk back his comments (maybe he didn't expect people to be quite so lazy with his information), people are still in here reacting to it like he hasn't already admitted he is just spinning crap.

Daily contact? I'm barely in daily contact with the missus and she lives in our house. Poch and levy on the WhatsApp group sending round spicy memes every day. ?

I am not sure why we can take this as a fact. Conte will tell the stories his way, like the club tell it their way...

we don’t even know if the di marzio leak isn’t from Conte to put pressure on levy. Who knows what to think. All I know is it will be us fans suffering in the end. It always is.

Even though he knows he won’t be backed sufficiently or is he that easy for Levy to manipulate?

As you said in your previous post lots can happen but this kind of thing always gives players an excuse to down tools unfortunately and ours seem to like to do that on a regular occurrence. Annoying as there is still so much to play for and it could be a successful season if we get our heads down and get on with it.

You would think that we wouldn't pull the trigger on Zaniolo and Porro without an intention to trigger the clause and an agreement to honor it. but this club never ceases to surprise.

To be honest with Conte he has every right to be completely pissed off. Squad in desperate need of upgrades, last week of the transfer window, no new signings while other clubs have strengthened - business as usual for ENIC.

He's not going to emulate the same feeling as last time round and the parameters of his success are also different.

It's a recipe for disaster.

Funny thing, didn't see anywhere any posts commenting that 1st half vs City we were unrecognisable. A high press, City turning possession over and us threatening their goal.

Thought I'd dreamt it (plus a fair helping of Gin)...but hooray one other person noticed..Ali Gold.

Anyway, I can't see that as 'predictable tactics and formation' on that day.
That’s it exactly. Then frustratingly return to the familiar error strewn play we all recognise.

Feels like something Levy can easily manipulate. If Poch loves the club like a fan and wants anything to be here that puts Levy in a position to bring him in on his terms (minimal backing) then sack him later on when it all turns sour. Poch deserves better than how Levy would treat him.

Need to keep up the Levy out chants and intensify them if anything. If Conte is currently thinking of leaving we need to change his mind. I can't stand the thought of yet another transitional season. I mean we're balanced to a point where we can win tomorrow and sign a couple of players to put ourselves right back in contention for top 4. Or sign nobody and sizzle out to the end of the season , maybe qualify for Europe at best before ripping everything up in the summer. A project manager is yet more years building to what may lead to no titles again. That's on top of the last 4 years where we could have built like arsenal have in that time. Either go all in for Conte or prove getting him and Jose was a waste of time and kept us from progressing the last few years.

It’s sad because BMJ and Poch genuinely did like the club and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that those are my favourite memories of us. If we’re not going to win, it’s at least nice to feel like we’re in it together.

Jol apparently met with Newcastle behind the clubs back for the job there. Poch obviously seemed keen on the Utd job. The only difference is Conte’s all about winning and has got the clout to come out and be honest, where most managers under ENIC are happy to keep silent or talk platitudes and cliches and pick up the money. I know who I respect more. We’ll never be in it together while ENIC are in charge.

Think with Poch we have to lay down the gauntlet early give him a six year contract and basically say we are not sacking him

There can be no stability under Levy because his word means nothing and everyone knows it.

He’s broken it with every coach, every player renewing their contract, and every open letter to fans about ‘the footballing DNA’ and investment.

He may not set out to lie, but he doesn’t have what it takes to see any project through.

I love Poch but I’ve seen close up in semi finals that Conte is simply a better coach. He may not be as likable. He’s erratic and draining for sure, but was probably our best and last option to win anything with Kane.

Downgrading to Poch just because it makes us feel warm and fuzzy - and won’t challenge the board - this won’t solve anything imo.

Poch won’t be inheriting a young Kane, Dembele, Eriksen, Verts, Lloris, Walker, Rose.

We’re loosing Kane, Newcastle have pushed us out of the top table, and Levy will sack Poch after we don’t get Top 4 with the same dross + a few bargains Poch had to be talked into.

I’d love to proven wrong but I have no faith in any appointment under Levy.

He’s a total liability for building a successful football team and would break anyone, even Pep or Klopp.

He briefs the press against his own coach, and sacked Mourinho days before a cup final.
