A bad patch is a bad patch, this isn’t a bad patch this is a half a season of persisting with a formation and style that clearly doesn’t work for the players or gives the fans anything to get behind.

We can point towards the players not being good enough which is clearly the case but why have we regressed so badly from last season then? the style is shite and the manager is too stubborn to change it.

i’d get rid of him personally, it doesn’t all fall at Contes feet but what he can control he isn’t so back to the drawing board for me.

how does this explain the dramatic nosedive in performances from last season? We’ve added more players but got worse.
The club and Levy keep allowing rumours of Conte staying or leaving, backing or not, circulating in the media. As players I don't think they wouldn't be affected, knowing another cycle of rinse and repeat is happening, so why would they remain committed when neither their chairman nor the manager is staying committed? We are just shooting our own feet, like always.

If you all or anyone thinks this on Conté, you seriously wrong!
Whilst I agree it’s not all on Conte and we seriously need to improve our squad quality, itmismon Conte constantly playing 3-4-3, refusing to play Spence (and playing Emerson in a position clearly not suited to him) and he’s also failed to get anything out of Bissouma, who was one of the best midfielders in the league at Brighton.

The whole way he seems to have to have players playing his way or no way concerns me when we’re playing like we are this season.

Like they need the reins taken off so they can actually play, although of course we desperately need more attacking players and some better defenders.

Probably a new goalkeeper too as Lloris has let us down too many times, really a shame we didn’t get Pope over Newcastle.

Embarrassing result, embarrassing performance, embarrassing bench, embarrassed for Conte. We’ve all been here a thousand times before. Nothing will change whilst Levy and ENIC remain.

We have a world class manager, being let down (again) by the owners and chairmen. I would walk if I were Conte, nothing worse then being given square pegs for round holes.

Unfortunately for us fans, we will endure this over and over again.

We need to pick a manager and stick with them.

Jose would have had us winning things by now.

Conte will have us winning things eventually.

No manager in the world is coming in to win things under this chairman and with this group of players. None. Not one.

They need time and they need backing, even if things have to get worse before they improve.

Look what’s happening down the road for examples.

I wish people listened to this and stopped trying to get a manager out at the first sign of trouble. People forget how poch era started.

we can't keep doing this

You are clueless. Jose is absolutely finished. We had a horrible low block, no press and poor buildup under him, 3 key fundamentals of being a good team. It’s more than being a ‘serial winner’, you need to implement a sustainable and progressive (pressing high, building out from back) model of football if you truly want to compete nowadays. Conte and especially Jose don’t do this.

I hear all that. This is on ENIC! Sorry!
You don’t bring in a manager like him, and don’t really back him. We sll know what kind of manager he was before we took him on.
I would argue he has been backed. Surely he would have known the budget etc

I'm still on his camp as his players are still not assembled. But really if Levy has no intention to signing his preferred players, I will appreciate him to just leave. No point making both sides a misery.

That's the thing, if you're not 100% in and willing to part with the funds necessary to give Conte what he wants, is it worth all of this? Persisting with football that you couldn't differentiate between that of Nuno's and Jose's, not wanting to develop youth, wanting ageing players over younger, building a side devoid of creativity etc.

It's one thing to want to back him but can we really back him to a degree that's necessary for him to achieve what he wants on the pitch? I'm not even convinced of that.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not pro ENIC / Levy by any stretch. However this style of football is bloody terrible. its not progressive. That’s on the manager.

True but we knew what we were getting when we appointed him. Think we all just hoped we could deal with it if it meant winning things but we aren’t and the football is actually worse than we could have imagined.

Jose and Conte have won shit at every club before ours, and will win things with every club they go to after us.

Jose’s already done it with Roma, despite the sneers from people like you when he signed for them.

Our rotten club, its mentality and its hierarchy are the common denominator here.

I’m more of the mind that Levy will fail to back him in the window, and let him walk out at the end of the season to save the severance pay.

I’m with you after that though, Poch will come back until we realise it was a massive mistake bringing him back when nothing improves.

Then we will be back here again, with no manager, no consistent plan, and not knowing what we’re meant to be doing, whilst hoping for some cheap options to pop up.

After Mourinho got sacked it should have been the time to start something new. If we were run properly in terms of the football club we should have had a complete overhaul of everything behind the scenes. We should be investing much much more in the academy, we should be scouting the globe for gems to develop at the best training complex in the world and created an overall philosophy of how we want to play from academy to first team and appointed mangers to fit that. Right now we in a spiral of dumb shit from recruitment to academy to first team to manger appointments and I don’t see it getting any better.
