Undefeated in first 7 PL matches. A new record that is for us.

Surely we must be the only club that's had TWO managers having record breaking starts in half a season and still be 17 points behind the top.

My point is carrying on like we are gonna get top 4 cause we beat Leeds Bournemouth Norwich 10 man palace all at home
Who’s carrying on like we will and it’s a certainty? Can’t see anything of that claim, or in relation to the post you were referring to. So again, not sure what your point was and is.

According to NBC he's our first manager to go his 1st 7 PL games unbeaten.

As for the "I'll stay for now...." Just a friendly reminder to Levy that he won't be fucked about so don't even try it. Also a friendly reminder to the fans not to start expecting us to win every game with ease just because he's here and we've had a good start. He's about 3 weeks too late with that one though. Some fans are already questioning him which blows my tiny mind.

When did we play Bournemouth ??‍♂️Conte such a magician he’s arranging for us to play teams in the league below but the points still go towards our PL tally?

Odd comment from him saying he’s “ I will stay for now….” I’m assuming it’s a little bit lost in translation and also making sure Levy puts his hands deep in his pockets next month but ether way, it’s not the most encouraging thing to hear tho. He looked really upset and rightly so.

Yeah I did a bit of a double take when I heard it to be honest.

The thought did occur to me that what he actually said was “I will say for now” before going on to clarify that he thinks given our squad and the fact he came in mid season means that top four this season is a big ask.

Or what we heard was correct and he’s applying a bit of pressure…..

…. Or he’d had a transfer window meeting with Levy and Paratici before the game :D

I think it’s just lost in translation mate and/or he’s just putting a bit of pressure on or more likely just making the media and fans aware that he’s happy to stay but without quality signings we won’t be consistent enough this season to get top 4 or win a trophy (“something important”).

January is going to be very interesting tbh.

Given Ndombele’s lack of minutes I wonder if he could be off in Jan.

Either way regardless of OUT’s, we need to sign ideally 2 decent players in Jan to help us push on with our top 4 challenge, ideally a CM such as Kessie who is out of contract in summer anyway and a goalscoring creative AM upgrade E.g. a Coutinho type.

Then in summer we can sign a RWB, CB and ST.

then we win the quadruple

And yet we're still unbeaten in the league since he's been here.

That wasn't my point, now was it? I think he has gotten the formation right with the squad he has available and that is a major improvement in of itself, but how anyone can defend him no matter what is beyond me. The starting eleven was wrong, the subs were either wrong (Doherty) or came too late (Lucas).

No one is exempt from criticism.

Only a few months ago the very same players under Nuno couldn’t manage a shot on target for over 2 matches ,today in a ‘poor performance’ we had 21 shots and 11 on target!!!

Everyone relax and enjoy the process. As long as Paratici sorts Conte out with the players he wants, we will be absolutely fine.

Are you saying the starting eleven was wrong because we drew the game? If so what if we'd made our pressure pay and came through and won 2-1 or 3-1 would the starting eleven have been wrong then? Because it was fine lines which prevented us from doing just that. Never mind the fact we've got games coming thick and fast, rotation is absolutely essential. I think Conte knows exactly what he's doing. Its the players that aren't performing if anything. Nothing to do with Conte. Criticism where its due I agree but this isn't one of those days in my opinion mate.

I think he was fucked by our lack of options. Ideally we'd have seen Bergwijn starting but had to go with Dele. Sessegnon injured meant a heavy legged Reguilon had to go again and when he had to be subbed, all we had was a right footed Doherty. I will contest that he should've brought on Tanguy early in the first half as Hojbjerg was doing fuck all for us in the centre, but on all the other counts we are just weak.

Think it shows even Conte has limits with this squad. He’s squeezed as much as he can but now he needs help with reinforcements

No, I'm saying it was wrong because we had 0 creativity in midfield and 0 control. We looked like we were the ones with a man less until they got their red card. We know that PEH and Winks are not creative players and Dele has been crap for 3 years now.

I agree rotation is important but lining up with that midfield is like shooting yourself in the foot. And Doherty should not even be in a squad, let alone the first sub. Lucas should have replaced Dele as soon as they lost a man.

But let's agree to disagree.

So we have scored 1 goal with a man advantage for over 2 hours in games where we wanted another goal is totally unacceptable
I'll bite. Palace we were 2-0 up and comfortable with today to come. We got the third and rested legs as best we could.

Today we actually scored two goals that were controversially disallowed. We also had plenty of attempts. Something we didn't do prior to Conte.

Some rare but very welcome perspective on the match day thread.

Glad Conte isn’t whinging about the 2 poor decisions.

They cost us, but ultimately he knows we weren’t good enough today.
