I agree. But we are getting squeezed. The number of PL clubs with mega budgets keeps growing (where once there was Chelsea there's now Man City and Newcastle, while Man United and Liverpool could easily be sold and join that group), Arsenal always seem to find a way to spend big and look set with a decent young squad that will serve them well for a few more years to come, and everyone else is becoming more and more wealthy off the back of tv money. Maintaining a top six position is going to be bloody difficult moving forwards, and if Kane and Son were to depart too...

If Son were to depart it would make maintaining top 6 a lot easier if he plays like this year.

Sadly some people only see the negatives in everything. Even when you mention we're 4th people will use hypothetical nonsense to shoot it down. Oh but if the teams win their games in hand or if Liverpool and Chelsea weren't having a bad season. If everyone was doing better we would get relegated. It's sad really that people can't even enjoy the positives at all like things are really so bad. As we line up in the Champions League against Milan in this amazing stadium and not everyone is happy or wants to enjoy it. I get the impression at times people are almost waiting for us to fuck up just so they can say they were right. Like people get more joy being right on the Internet than to see their team win. Why can't people just get behind the team and be an actual supporter rather than moan all the bloody time. I really hope Conte returns with a bang and we get Conte cam back with him going crazy over a win again. COYS!

Have we really zigged and zagged in choosing managers?

Haven't Mourinho, Nuno and Conte all been pretty much the same style of appointment? They obviously have varying degrees of ability but all pretty pragmatic managers.

I don't even think Conte has been a failure. Found us drifting nowhere and dragged us into 4th. This season has been messy but we are still just about 4th and last 16 of the CL.

If we go out tonight but we finish 4th this season and Conte leaves at the end of it I would rate it a 7/10 performance for his tenure. Last season Conte was 10/10 and this year has been around a 5/10. It's compounded because Arsenal have been so good.

If we do lose tonight he'll probably leave anyway it won't be some gigantic failure, it has been a missed opportunity and he hasn't had the right backing but I don't believe he has performed badly as a coach.
