He said what was said in the embargoed part of the press conference without running it by the club. Once he said it he was made aware that it wasn't for public consumption and has backtracked. His works went from "one thing for certain..." to "nothing for certain".

I know which version I believe.

Who has he improved at Tottenham? I’m not being facetious, I’m genuinely curious.

Which players could he genuinely improve?
I'll take Bissouma as one that isn't playing well in the system.
I think Gil looks a bit better and more confident, Sarr looked assured.
Bentancur and Kulu look rejevenated, Kane's hit his ceiling.
I don't think many managers have a chance of improving Davies, Lloris, Dier, Sanchez, Moura, Son, Doherty, Sessegnon, Hojbjerg.

Lenglet? Skipp?

We won't, period. We won't have wage budget comparable to the highest payers, not without sportswashing sugar daddy.

Now when that is given, is Conte the right choice of manager?
Isn't that the whole point getting Conte? Or even Jose for that matter. If we're not going to give them the tools to win titles then no they're the wrong choice.
I don't know how you can be so sure we can't do it without sportswashing as if there aren't many other billionaires around. ENIC could if they really wanted.

So, If we can just replace Conte, Levy, Paratici, Emerson, Dier, Sessegnon, Lloris, Davies, Doherty, Hojbjerg, Moura, Son and Sanchez, we should be alright.

Someone tell Doris to put the kettle on, seems like we are going to be on the phone for a while.....

He’s supposed to be an elite manager. He’s supposed to be able to squeeze every last drop of talent from the squad. Instead he’s wedded to a system that we all know isn’t working and refuses to change.

Conte isn’t helping himself though. Sticking to the same formation and tactics, which clearly aren’t working, just alienates the fans.

At least if we were losing, but going out fighting with good football, then we could all agree we need the signings to push on, but I’m not convinced anything will change even with new players. We will still sit ultra deep and invite pressure onto us

Conte has his system, same as Pep. You either build for that or don’t hire him, most goals we concede these days seem to be from individual errors. Conte might not be suitable for us but he does suit an elite football club, which we where supposed to be.

Yes, they were completely wrong choices. Besides Mourinho won't win Serie A with Roma, just like Ancelotti didn't set the Napoli on fire. We are still on desperate trophy hunting loop leading to wrong managerial choices that began pre ENIC. We went for sure winner in Gooner George despite all he represented while neighbours took a chance on manager working in Japan.

I don't know how you can be so sure we can't do it without sportswashing as if there aren't many other billionaires around. ENIC could if they really wanted.

Well, we can't do it without being a toy for some sugar daddy and that is plain evident on public information on our finances

I can’t be the only one who likes conte coming out and staying obviously controversial things. If that’s the only way that levy and the board will listen then why not?
We don’t know what they say behind doors between them all but if he feels like he needs to come out and say it publicly be my guest. To now know that the board and levy don’t like hearing what he’s been saying to the press… well that’s their own fault… not contes. Don’t be mad at the one whos preaching to us and letting us know things. Like his style or not don’t use that as an excuse for your own agenda

Levy is sucking the soul out of the club, ENIC clearly dont give a shit about the football side of things,

I really don't understand this take. If they didn't give a shit why hire two of the most expensive managers in the world? Why cough up around 300 million net on 20 odd players the past 3 years.

I am more forgiving of the "they've made bad appointments/no clear post Poch vision" argument than they don't give a shit.

But we need unity as a club to do well, doing this is just divisive and counter productive.

Do it behind closed doors.

Spurs are messing me up so much right now ?

I reckon I’ve taken 5 different positions on what should happen today alone. I’ll probably argue against my own previously held points in the next day or two

He's already "gathered" about 50% more resources than Conte has been given.

When does project Conte start?

Completely irrelevant to what you originally said which was about Potter going swimmingly, which was what I responded to, no relation to Conte was made in the swimmingly comment by you or me. So think it's utterly pointless you telling me about what he's got in contrast to Conte.

I'm definitely more towards your line of thinking, I'm certain Levy makes mistakes because he's a control freak, doesn't really understand football but won't trust football people, and the board go along with it because they have cushy little numbers, I'm sure it's more complicated than that but it's a rough take on things.

He probably has done it behind closed doors.. and been ignored.

Your man Poch and his furniture analogy was ok then? that was a clear dig at the owners and board.

That's the problem, I don't think that we are. We literally have the best manager for the job but still wont do things his way. ENIC doesn't show any ambition to win a trophy. It still feels like they're happy to compete with little spend and qualify for Europe.

So you don't think he's squeezing the most out of this team? You think we could do better than 4th last season? You think we can do better than 5th this season?
He's literally squeezing the best out of this group, we're where we belong with this squad. He just looks dejected because he doesn't like to compete for top 4 and finds himself there again this season.

so when we’re 2-0 against arsenal and they are so on top and look like it could’ve been 4 or 5, an elite manager refuses to make any change??
