Is it acceptable for a club like ours to just allow this season to just meander to a close?
This is Tottenham, meandering is much too quiet and boring, this has the makings of a proper farce..

Because he has essentially been indoctrinated by conte. He eats like conte (a balanced italian diet of pasta and pizza), he sleeps like conte (with one eye open) and thinks like conte (ie what subs can i make to show us the least attacking intent).

it’s madness to have kept him here. He bascially got the job as we had a run of three games where we played ‘okay’, but levy forgets stellini was at the helm for our gutless cup exits.
Pasta and pizza 😂😂

People can whine about Stellini, Conte, Moura, Son, Sanchez, Dier, Hobjerg, Levy, whoever.... but that's about the third or fourth game in a row where Romero is arguably the biggest culprit in putting us under pressure, I have to say. He's clearly not the only one at fault, but he is developing a nasty habit of being the one who arguably starts it. Same against Soton - we get a goal to look good on the scoreline, it's time to be smart and play properly, and he immediately starts serving up silly repetitive chaotic wildcat bollocks and dicking around with the ball in bad areas that seems to light the touchpaper and give the opposition the encouragement they need to get at us and give it a go.

As for the game - first half alright but lacking quality, thought we were crap from the whistle second half but the two key things went our way and we got ourselves ahead, and then our tactics after going 1-0 up was the most dreadfully cowardly negative approach you could get - yep, you can do that even with possession of the ball - gave the opposition all the encouragement they needed, and quite frankly deserved to get punished.

The stench of negative (anti) football needs eradicating. Call in the fumigators.

Sacking a manager just to appoint his assistant who is drilled in exactly the same tactics. Fuck me.

You're right but jeez we’re against a side who’ve scored the least goals and have ten men. Even if playing defensively you dominate the ball and just easily get the win. The players were absolutely pathetic, played like a bunch of scared non league players. We could’ve switched to attacking 4231 tactics and we’d still have been hanging on. They’re a really weak group of footballers.

Mason was screaming at the players to press before the Lucas red.

They didn’t. Concede a goal and they come to life.

Get a goal up and stop playing.

They’ve done this under every manager including last 18 months with Poch.

They’ve now had too many managers to ever fear their authority.

They know they can outlast any coach who doesn’t tell them what they want to hear.

The club is a total shambles.

we are like a shit PSG with Players running the show because the club set it up that way.

Players run the club because it’s cheaper to sack the manager than buy a new team.

You happy clappers keep paying top dollar filling little weasels pockets he doesnt give a fuck about you me or Spurs as a football club. The true fact is he runs an entertainment business using our football ground and we just play football there that is fucking fact. Nothing will change until the happy clappers draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough. Not the managers fault its Enics fault. If you want to pay top dollar to see us take 2 pts from Soton and Everton both in the bottom 3 playing the worst football in decades you fucking crack on Daniel doesnt give a flying fuck about you!! Daniel doesnt want glory on the pitch he has 1 trophy in twenty two years wow wake the fuck up Spurs fans!!!
I know we're all very emotional right now but when it's 2023 and we're starting Eric Dier every game, you're probably right.

Don't know football? We literally had an extra man, and the players done fuck all. They hid. That's not on any manager, that's a players mentality down to the core.

We have had the same issues with the same players with different managers, it's hardly a coincidence!!!
It’s the same tactics in a deep 5-4-1 which gives the players very little passing options so as we get pushed deep they have to just hoof it clear back to Everton and so the pressure keeps coming back.

Switch to 4atb and 3 in midfield and we’d be able to sustain pressure and possession and create chances down the other end.

Surely Stellini has been at the club long enough which players are leaders, which have balls and/or which players will play for him. He also must have some insight into what was working under COnte and what wasn't. Apart from a bit of energy at the beginning, he doesn't seem to have instilled anything worthwhile that is going to improve performances over the next 9 games. We could well be heading into freefall. And that's also on Levy as well as the players and staff.

It really didn’t seem gutless or disgusting tbh, the players tried hard but they lack a bit of quality and also the system is restricting them big time.

Completely disagree these players don’t care, they were all putting in a shift. I’ve seen teams who aren’t giving 100% or are bad eggs but this is not one of them.
Every 50-50 tackle was won by Everton. I didn’t see any meaningful press from our players. If that is 100% I’d hate to less.

I hate to admit it but it seems like Conte was right. God help us. If this is Stellini what will the rest of season be like? I have never seen a more gutless and disgusting performance in the 60 years I have followed Spurs. I thought these players would respond to the criticism but they are obviously not sufficiently bothered about it.
Conte was absolutely right with what he said, he just shouldn’t have said it in that arena. We have some average players stealing a living in our shirt. It’s very clear to see.

We were 1 up with 4 minutes to go, 11 v 10 and I said to the wife we’d be lucky to get a draw…

I said to my Mrs that the ref would level up the red cards and it would end up as a draw.
The red was nailed on, easy easy
Ditto the equaliser.

I don't think some of these players are good enough...that's a fact.

But, come on!

That was the exact same system, same subs, same personnel.

Yes we started a bit brighter but ultimately that was Conte's system AND decisions.

If Stellini had made a few changes to personnel or 3 in midfield and we throw it away it'd all be on the players but it's clear they cannot play this system and are not been coached well enough under pressure/with the ball.

Everton only threatened from crosses/balls wide.

So push the team into Everton's half and six them in.
Go to 3 in midfield and have Skipp cover/block counter attacks.
Play Lenglet LB and tell him to push up.

Nope, we sit back and have players stood in positions waiting for the ball, whilst 2 midfielders are getting overrun by a team with 10 men.

Honestly the decisions being made by experienced coaches is mind boggling
Yeah players were gutless but Stellini was the biggest culprit tonight.

With Conte gone he should've had the balls or the sense to change tactics in the 2nd half when we went ahead and Everton started getting desperate and playing with intensity.

He's so afraid of moving away from that one specific system when it was so clear we needed to mix things up, get on the ball and get some proper control of the game.

Abysmal game management. And against 10 men too...

This is the most pathetic Spurs team for years and having supported Tottenham since 1971, that’s saying something.
Worse than the team we had when we had to get Klinsman in loan to prevent being relegated?
that was some turgid Wimbledon FC type crap then.

Every one of the last 3 managers has played rigid defensive football.

Also this group is different to that under Poch.

Give this group freedom to actually play football and let’s see how they look.

They all fucking manage it when on international duty. They haven't forgotten how to play FFS.

Conte was an issue, no doubt about that, but this is far more than that and it runs far deeper than just a change of management.
It does run deeper, yes.

But honestly bringing on Sánchez - the least calm player on the ball in our squad - when we’re a man up and winning 1-0 away from home, is just MONUMENTALLY STUPID.

Then taking Son off and instead of using our very pacey, point-to-prove winger, he brings on our clearly-over-the-hill and done-with-this-shit forward…

He’s really not helped us there has he.

That was a terrible 2nd half, we got fortunate with the Red card and penalty lucky to get a point.
