I'm now on the Ndicka train, Bastoni who?

Half the price, 6'4, good pace, good ball skills. Has that zidane flair with pirouette or 2 in him.

We are gonna have Romero who loves playing as a striker, and Ndicka who loves a skill move or 2. Love it.

Would say the main concern would be his passing range which is in direct contrast to what was arguably our first choice in Bastoni but for me, he looks a real solid defender alongside Bremer and another big physical presence at set pieces.

I know many won't agree..... but do we really need 2 more defenders? Bremmer ain't coming to warm our bench vs joining Inter where he will likely be in the starting 11 if Skriniar departs as an example.

You'd have Ndicka interchange with Davies
Sanchez with Dier or Romero
Then you still have Tanganga ( who some would say needs to be moved on) but we messed his development up by not loaning him out down the lower leagues to get proper game time to develop.

I think only the top 3 had a better defence and ours improved with Conte joining.

I'd rather get a quality Rwb and cover up top for Kane Ala Richarlison or that Osimhen (sp) guy from Napoli
While you may have a good point, I think we are trying to get rid of Rodon and maybe even Sanchez (not sure Conte really trusts him). Tanganga may stay for the homegrown quota.

Hence a group of 5 central defenders that Conte can trust is not too much with all the games we will play.

Whether that lcb is ndicka or not is another question.

Haven't seen much of him myself so can't really say myself, but looks solid defensively whilst being pretty comfortable with the ball at his feet from this video.

He looks a very good player. Strong, solid in the tackle, calm when under pressure, decent burst of speed, some skill, attacking attributes.

Whereas if you look at Hincapie he looks like Sanchez with the ball at his feet, clumsy.

A brief scan back to our form when Dier was out, or before Romero came back in shows why we need depth here. Sanchez I don't mind having around, despite his occasional (and sometimes more than occasional) brainfarts. Tanganga is not good enough if we seriously want to establish ourselves as a top team.

Tanganga will probably go to Napoli

Interesting we’ve gone from looking at Bastoni for apparently £60m to Ndicka for less than half that as he has a year left on his contract.

wonder if we’re looking to use the funds on a forward instead.

I do find it slightly random but I suspect we are going for players based on their qualities rather than their price tag. Just means that you have additional funds to then go for a better player elsewhere. Eg N'Dicka and Lautaro/Hakimi instead of say Bastoni and Richarlison/Spence. But ultimately both cases the spent sum would be roughtly the same.

I am not saying we will be getting Lautaro/Hakimi but just citing them as an example. Id love Hakimi

It’s who is available on the market though. Bastoni was the best available target but even if we were still allocating the £50m that we’d earmarked for LCB I think it’s possible that Ndicka would be second on the list and then obviously his contract means we don’t need to dump that much on him. He’s a better fit for what we need than Pau Torres imo.

Like the look of this guy. Not as classy on the ball as Bastoni but more of a pure defender and, unlike some of our other targets, looks both a natural fit for the LCB slot and PL football.

All or our deals so far this summer have been extremely sensible and well-judged in terms of price, position, style etc. I feel like N'Dicka would be another eminently smart signing and I'd prefer him to Torres or some or the youngsters we've been linked to.

If we got two I’m pretty confident two of Sanchez / Rodon / Tanganga would be offloaded.
