Dier was let down by the front 4 today. They gave it away so cheaply so many times with sloppy passes. It just put us straight back under pressure.
Dier also have the ball away a lot though. 18 times, second to Jan on 19.
Definitely one of his better games in a long while though. Not the answer long term but if he can keep improving he can at least do a job until we have better options.
Where are those stats from?
Seems rather high, that 2 players gave the ball away 37 times.
I remember a few seasons ago when we were linked with Moutinho people saying he was a bit too slow and past it, geezer has found two extra gears!Better but still not convinced, Moutinho and Neves ran rings around our midfield today
It was a ruptured and perforated appendix, followed by complications, followed by something else.I think it was appendicitis rather than a full ruptured appendix. Pretty routine, though for the rare few it can have additional complications. Normally takes 5-6 weeks to get back to relative full fitness. Whilst not ideal I don't think that's the reason his form dropped off a cliff prior or after the op.

Sofascore. They are high numbers. The average on the app (for midfielders and fullbacks) is probably closer to 10.
It's about time people started to cut the player some slack where this is all concerned. He is not 'shit' as many love to tell us, he is a wonderful footballer when he's fit and playing well.
a 6ft 2 inch traffic cone.
With so many SUVs on the roads that makes him useful then.a 6ft 2 inch traffic cone.
News just in...traffic cones are offended by the comparisona 6ft 2 inch traffic cone.
Arteta would put him outa 6ft 2 inch traffic cone.
Injuries and illness destroyed him, time to move on. Similar thing happened to Wanyama who was better. I thought he would become future captain but I said similar stuff about Sandro before. Even if he gets to his form from few years back it wouldn't be good enough, it was good then because he was young and had potential to be even better and be a complete DM. That potential is gone now and we need to do better. Like NBA with 3 point shooting, football has evolved to teams filled with athletes, agile DMs who can defend, fast fullbacks who can cross, pressing that starts from a forward.
