Theres a common theme across sport, especially in rugby. If you bulk up / get heavier you generally lose a percentage of your mobility. Not necessarily top speed but agility certainly. Kane & Dier both look broader and heavier set ion my opinion. Whilst they haven't bulked up to silly proportions, I wonder if any of that impacts their all round game.
There’s also just a natural filling out when you get older. Same with dele as well. Remember we first saw all these players from late teens early twenties. They’ve basically just become men since then.
Ali and Dier as a CM 2 would offer minimal protection to the back 4.
Any way you could link to the video? Have always struggled to find good Dier videos. All I see now is a player that points, walks and strolls around the pitch.
Have a look back at clips of that player in 2016, when he was decent.
From @SpursStatMan
Eric Dier has been dribbled past more times (9) than any other#thfc player in the Premier League this season.
What constitutes a dribble?! Ball at feet? Running with it?
I'm sure there s as many players had the ball passed by them. Given his role.in the team he is bound to be chasing / closing down said dribblers, so it stands to reason his stats would be high? Or is it just when it is 1 on 1 or what?
You tell me!
It says more about Poch in my opinion. You can also include the way he handles and uses our full backs especially Walker-Peters into the equation. While he may have taken us to where we are now, I have most of the time questioned his game and player management, but then vilified by most for questioning him. I know I digress but I dont blame Dier, I blame Poch for exposing him by putting him in this position where he has limited ability, at the club's expense of courseYes. Would be relegation side level. And nothing forward either. Why Poch treats two such mediocre players as indispensible is a big mystery.
I love a random stat!

Mediocre? I'm glad you aren't our club scout.
