Apologies if this is common knowledge (if so, moderators please delete thread) but is the link accurate about ENIC? I shamefacedly admit I was not aware they had interest in clubs like AEK or Slavia Praha.
They did originally have a plan of owning clubs all over europe and be challenging for the top of the league for those teams iirc

However Uefa made a ruling saying clubs cant play each other in europe if they have the same owner who has more than a 50% share of the club

So they sold their share in those clubs after that

and iirc they also had a share in Rangers in Scotland too, (they sold up a while ago I think when those Uefa rules got serious presumably) which is presumably why we still maintain a fairly good relationship with them I'm guessing.

I think AEK, Slavia Praha and Rangers are really ENIC's level, those leagues are shit and with the budget that ENIC have they would do well.

Yeah I agree, its not like they've taken us from 8th - 15th constantly on the league to pretty much constant 5th place with a couple of 4th place finishes in the league <sarcasm>

Your Anti-Levy / Anti-ENIC bias is boring @Mullers do you actually post anything else than this drivel? Matter of fact, do you post anything positive about Spurs?

If it's boring why do you continue to make yourself bored by replying and continuing the discussion.
We have been in the CL once and won one cup during their 14 years. Is that a top European club? Not to me.

@MkYid is right, and what's with your sense of entitlement that Spurs be a 'top European club'?

Then your memory isn't good or you just see what you want to see.
I'm not going to change my opinions because people view them as negative, I will continue to say what I want to say, I have the right to do so on this forum. Don't like it, don't read it, do yourself a favour and put me on ignore if it bothers you so much.
And to answer your original post I post in chat, I post in discussion and debate almost everywhere

Also, Chelsea and City have unlimited funds making it nearly impossible to compete with them. On the one occasion we managed to finish above Chelsea they won the champions league and decided to pip us to certain players that would of improved us.

Man Utd have nearly unlimited funds and mountains of experience challenging for the title. Since ferguson left, they have been the most obvious team to overtake, but as seen when Liverpool beat them to a top 4 finish, they can just throw money at the situation to solve the problem.

And them next door, regardless what there fans say, they have a manager who knows what he is doing, and constantly gets the best out of his team to get in the top 4. How many times have arsenal not managed to get into the championsleague since Wenger has been there???

The fact of the matter is, we have consistently finished above Liverpool, who have a bigger stadium, can pay more in wages and have a bigger transfer budget.. so Id say we are pushing above our weight.. and since we got in the champs league 1 time. 1 time, fans like you seem to expect it season after season.

We are constantly in a european competion, 2nd tier admittedly, but the prize is an entry into the top tier comp.

I agree 1 cup in 14 years is not good for a team like Tottenham, but I choose to support the team than moan and throw my toys out the pram at every oppotunity

Actually you don't have a clue about what I expect if you did you wouldn't be saying that.
My expectations are actually lower than many supporters on here.
The trouble with posters like yourself is that you just turn angry at anything negative about spurs and don't read the content properly. You do know that you can support the club and be critical of the club as well don't you?
When I come on to this forum I want to see all kinds of views not just views that please me.
All the rest of your arguments have been said and answered many times before, so I'll just sum up by saying my main problem with Enic is that they expect champagne when they can only pay with buttons.

When ENIC started out they wanted to make us a perennial top 4 team. In the meantime Chelsea and latterly citeh have spent the GDP of a Pacific island nation each buying their way to the top table. The world which ENIC brought the club rapidly changed, and that wasn't in their control.

They've made plenty of mistakes and feel free to call them out on them or even throw insults their way. I know I have at times but on their own merits, we'd have been a CL club for the best part of a decade by now. I'm not going to go so far to call them failures because they can't magic an extra £100m-£200m a year out of thin air.

Either way, they've still improved us massively since taking over. That's undeniable.

Our league performance in the last 6-7 years has been our best sustained league performance since the early 60's. Fact. Chelsea and Man C have been financially doped to the tune of a billion pounds. Take them out of the equation and we've been a top 3 club for most of the last decade, and that includes surpassing Liverpool. All done whilst balancing the books and developing home grown talent and a world class training facility. That really is quite awesome when you think about it. Especially if you remember where we were after the disastrous Scholar and Sugar eras. My glass is half full. It's football in general I am cynical about and have lost a lot of love for the game in the way it is being administrated at the top level. CL money, the ridiculous Europa League format (designed to preserve the CL clubs superiority over any domestic challengers) that has ruined football, and not forgetting FFP (pull the ladder up behind you Mr Abramovich and pals - does he really sponsor / fund UEFA through Gazprom?).

What gives us the right to be a top European club? We have the 12th biggest stadium in the country. Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday have higher capacities than us, FFS.

ENIC have taken us from a club that is regularly relieved to not get relegated to a club that is regularly pissed off if we don't finish in the top 4. We have no right to be finishing higher than Man Utd or Arsenal, who have spent a couple of decades in the Champions League and were regular title winners in the years before ENIC took over Spurs. And we have no right to be finishing higher than Chelsea or Man City, who have a near bottomless pit of cash to spend on transfer fees and wages. Hell, even Liverpool have the financial windfall of a worldwide following gained throughout the 80s, allowing them to also blow us out of the water on wages and transfer fees.

Every year that Spurs finish higher than 6th is a year that Spurs have overachieved compared to our financial stature against our rivals.

And ENIC have done that whilst building one of the best training centres in the world, and fighting a lengthy battle to get a new world class stadium built, as well as increasing our overall reputation and finances.

They may not be perfect and they have made their share of cock ups, but we're damned well much better off for having them than we'd have been without them.

Im not angry mate, like I said originally, I find your constant anti-levy / anti-ENIC retoric boring, and see it as nothing more than self intitled drivel.

Sure ENIC only pay buttons, not taking into account our windfall from Bales transfer (which was spunked admittedly) we constantly spend in the transfer window, we are not say an Everton or Asyon Villa who will spend the bare minimum. We are in the process of building a shiny new stadium to go with our shiny new training facilities.

We should have signed a striker in the summer, but if Poch thinks our team is more balanced, and can use other players to fill in upfront when needed, I will take his word for it rather than someone who consistently comes across as a victor meldrew doom and gloom merchant.

My expectations are that we do our best to try and win a trophy and qualify for European football and I don't think we really do the former. The quest for a CL place is frankly bullshit, I'm not saying don't try our best in the league but the board need to be realistic about what you can do and the budget that you afford to do it.
Don't hire managers like AVB and Ramos and bullshit them into thinking we can afford top players to build a CL team when we can't.

The thing that gets my goat as well is that AVB got 5th with a records points total and Ramos got our only cup win. Those guys get critcised to hell while the guy who employed and sacked them barely gets any criticism and gets the credit for their achievements.

Ok but I'm not bothered about how I come across, I just say what I think, I'm going to keep it doing it too.If you find it boring so be it. I prefer to question things rather than just saying yes massa to everything.
Again I don't have a sense of entitlement read my last post. I don't mind discussing but lets do it properly and read arguments.
