I don't like the badness leveled at Pochettino and I won't join in.
In fact when he went to Chelsea I wished him good luck and all the success he had with us.
He's still on course.

One of the joys of the Poch era was that he absolutely understood what it meant to be a fan, which is why it's worse that he went to that lot.

I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank and maybe Levy could have called, but there are plenty of teams for him to manage that aren't one of those two.
Were there? Was he offered all these jobs? I might be misremembering but I don't remember any of note. His family found a home in London and we weren't interested. So if he wanted a job, Chelsea was it. Money or not, it was perfect for him in terms of a young squad there to develop from ground zero.

Spurs fans digging poch out for being a bottler is weird.

Bullied fanbase wanting to deflect from our own shortcomings.
I don't think we are bottle jobs and neither do I think Poch is.

I think you have to have something in your grasp but lose it cause you can't hold your nerve and I gey irritated when that phrase gets banded about. For example, when we were trailing Chelsea all season.

I just don't think Poch is at that elite coach level. Klopp is.

Spurs fans are stupid for jumping on the "Poch is a loser" train as you say.

All the reaction to Poch in this thread is doing is making me think we must have one of the most delicate fanbases around.

That may or may not be true - but today was not evidence of that.

Chelsea players should have won today - manager had nothing to do with the inability to take it to a tired Liverpool squad.

Personally, I can't stand the bloke but he's done an amazing job there and it's not just a manager that they are having to replace.
Absolutely, they also need to replace that set of teeth.

And those won't come cheap.

To be fair, Poch's comment was there for one thing and one thing only, even if you want to disagree with it in a grumpy and sweaty fashion.

They were talking about it on 5Live before the game and even the likes of Shearer was saying that these little psychological games play a massive part in all sports, not just football.

I generally agree with you about the paranoia on here when it comes to the media but Poch's comments were for one reason and one reason only.

Now, did that actually effect the decision? None of us know but that's certainly what he was hoping for when he said what he did.
It's exactly why the great managers, like Fergie, Arsenal and Jose played the games they did, they weren't doing it for shits and giggles
Against my better judgement, one final time and then i'll give it a rest.......:D

I've been aware of mind games in football for a very long time and when it was just a referee, I could see it. I could see something perhaps getting under a referee's skin even if subconsciously. But with VAR? There is no grand conspiracy. With the number of people involved in the process? Do the people peddling this filth not understand just how massive such a thing would have to be to work and work without being exposed?

With the number of complaints it is getting over bad calls just how many managers do you think they'd be bending over for? Given all that then surely anyone with an ounce of sense can see it's impossible to be anything other than each decision on it's merits, even if they do get it wrong. There'd have to be some sort of mass hypnosis at play. The suspension of belief is astonishing. It's a fucking ridiculous idea and I will stand by that and fight anyone over it, naked, covered in exotic oils with a particularly large Ostrich feather stuck up my bumhole.

I know there are very many conspiracy theorists on the firm but fucking hell.

Yeah teams get accused of bottling it for just losing a game now.

Even if it was the perfect job for him, which obviously it wasn’t, he clearly understands the nature of football rivalry so knew what he was doing. I can’t imagine he was desperate for the money or there weren’t other job opportunities for him. He knew what he was getting into and how football is- he’s done very well from football - so I don’t see why any Tottenham fans should want to defend him with this. He doesn’t care about you, so why would you worry about him?

Sounds exactly like what the illuminati behind this ever-growing conspiracy would say!

I'm sorry but "billion pound bottle jobs" was the single best line I've heard from a (Co) commentator in years.

It was probably pre-prepared by Neville but that line alone made me smile as much as the billion pound bottle jobs bottling the final did.

I don’t share anyone else’s disdain for Poch because he went to Chelsea, but my loathing of Chelsea outweighs any sentiment I still feel for Poch. I’ll only ever cheer on Chelsea if they’re playing Arsenal, and even then it depends on the circumstances. Add to that the inevitable way that the usual suspects would have used Poch winning a trophy with Chelsea as another stick to beat Spurs fans with, and it was a no-brainer for me that Spurs fans would largely prefer a Liverpool win today.

If that had been us in the final today, with a relatively full team, I would have been hugely disappointed to lose to such an understrength Liverpool .
Got to hand it to Klopp. It's going to be a massive job taking over from him. Surely, something will have to give soon though either in the league or Europa.
