Not sure who I wanted to lose that but it’s quite amusing they beat Chelsea billionaires

I'm happy because Chelsea can't get banned from a UEFA competition they don't care about like Juventus to get around their financial issues with UEFA going forward.

Chelsea are just a plastic non entity club to me, same as man city. Them winning things just doesn't register because it's all just fake bought success.
All their wins are tainted. But my point was more about the bitterness aimed at Poch. i would have wished him every joy and success if he'd gone pretty much anywhere other than Chelsea or Arsenal.

Yup - he had a huge legacy at THFC and its all gone now and for what ??

That said, I have no doubt if Levy had called, he wouldn’t have considered Chelsea for even a moment, so there is that

One of the joys of the Poch era was that he absolutely understood what it meant to be a fan, which is why it's worse that he went to that lot.

I'm sure he's laughing all the way to the bank and maybe Levy could have called, but there are plenty of teams for him to manage that aren't one of those two.

Precisely. I didnt want him back at Spurs at all but would have course got behind him if we had (foolishly) reappointed him - and of course he was great for us and am not taking anything away from him there.

But we won - absolutely nothing and he choked regularly in most big games. I would have wished him well had he gone ANYWHERE else except Chelsea and Arsenal. He had other choices but chose to go to Chelsea knowing what the reaction would be (he even said Chelsea are bigger rivals for us than Arsenal - which I agree with). Money is all that matters to him. Frankly, he's dead to me now and I hoped he would be sacked at Chelsea from day 1.

You too?

The idea that a statement in the media results in this is, quite frankly, fucking ridiculous and beyond any sort of credibility
To be fair, Poch's comment was there for one thing and one thing only, even if you want to disagree with it in a grumpy and sweaty fashion.

They were talking about it on 5Live before the game and even the likes of Shearer was saying that these little psychological games play a massive part in all sports, not just football.

I generally agree with you about the paranoia on here when it comes to the media but Poch's comments were for one reason and one reason only.

Now, did that actually affect the decision? None of us know but that's certainly what he was hoping for when he said what he did.
It's exactly why the great managers, like Fergie, Arsene and Jose played the games they did, they weren't doing it for shits and giggles

Didn't want either team to win it so happy and sad in equal measure. On balance, Liverpool winning is a tiny bit better than the chavs.

They can’t afford to sack him and hopefully he had a contract extension clause if he got to a major final.

They = Chelsea

I loved Poch.

I am happy (now) Levy did not make that call.

We needed a painful rebuild, and I don't think we would have gotten it going back to Poch.

Spurs fans digging poch out for being a bottler is weird.

Bullied fanbase wanting to deflect from our own shortcomings.

They’re about to lose one of their greatest managers, could impact them in a big way, Klopp is their brand.

So I don’t mind them having a good season over the likes of City (cheats) and the scum clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea.
Yeah, they were talking well about this on 5live earlier.
Klopp really has become Mr Liverpool and he's not going to be easy to replace, from his connection with the fans, the first team and the way he's confident to nurture and use the kids.

Personally, I can't stand the bloke but he's done an amazing job there and it's not just a manager that they are having to replace.

Incredibly relieved Chelsea didn't win that. Would've been genuinely disgusting to see Poch win a trophy with them, especially after how absolutely awful they've been all season.
