Tapsoba starting in Leverkusen friendly today.

Let the meltdown commence 👀
Why wouldn’t he ?? He’s there player the same as the likes of lo celso and reguilon are our players and come to think of it ! Harry Kane also . Until a offer comes in that is deemed good enough then players will play for the the teams that pay there wages .

an ideal world? I’d much prefer to put Dorrington and this new kid from Blackburn in as 4 and 5, playing a 2 in just 3 comps.

You think we sign VDV and Tapsoba?

Might as well begin dusting off your at least we tried, not our fault sign now
Nice idea but I really don't think they're ready for a title challenge, for that we do need a bit of experience in the squad and I very much want us to mount a title challenge this season.

Scenes when he scores a goal in the friendly, streaks off to celebrate, rips his top off to reveal the shirt underneath - Come get me Daniel

From a Kicker article today.
It mentions something about Leverkusen's transfer economy this summer. Just because they sold Diaby doesn't mean Tapsoba is off the table.

Diaby millions give Bayer the necessary room for transfer movement.

For the Bundesliga club, the Diaby millions represent the second significant transfer income this summer, after left-back Mitchel Bakker was sold to Atalanta Bergamo for ten million euros plus bonuses. The money from England gives Bayer 04, who have to generate a transfer surplus of between 10 and 20 million euros this summer, the necessary scope to act on the offensive.

Because in addition to a replacement for Diaby, the club also needs an alternative to striker Patrik Schick, who will be out until at least the beginning of October after a groin operation. Kicker already reported at the beginning of June that Bayer 04 had their eye on Victor Boniface (22) from Union Saint-Gilloise. Now the strong attacker, who would cost more than 15 million euros, is a concrete candidate for the striker position.

For me Tapsoba should be the clear number one target. My feeling is that Levy and Paratici are trying to wait bayern out at the moment to have the biggest money possible to buy players with. The only problem by doing so is that maybe the number one target wont be avalible anymore by that time...

Did anyone watch their game? If so how did he look live?
I didn't 😄😄 .. but he got an assist and got substituted in the 73rd minute... I do know that Hincapie is injured and Tah got a knock in training and was rested because of that...

The thing that confuses me is Romano and the ITKs both said we'd know by today basically whether we'd moved for Tapsoba or not, and yet it's still crickets. So so weird.

Re-read @Hotspur88 post.
internally we may know by the end of this week; but to have both secured is a different story. (Not digging at you) But so much fretting over things that are not in our control… trust the process …
….maybe I’m of a different age group.. to continually gripe about levy this & Joe bloggs that. Makes up about 75% of posts…

Either vdV or Tap are ready to go. (be signed) so the only benefit of taking a new CB on pre season from the off is for integration. They'll still be getting mins at their parent clubs to be fit.

But take them on pre season and all the CBs Ange wants to assess then will play less. Therefore a proper picture won't appear.

I thought this would be obvious;

Assess the crap we have at CB, realise we need better, pull the trigger on 1 or both..

Leverkusens 60M euros from Villa wont make a Tapsoba deal any closer. It'd be naive to think otherwise. Whatever cash crunch they might have had is gone now. They can drive a tougher deal or walk away.
