1st name mentioned that’s even in the ballpark of the right level with some of the Kane money. But I don’t know what position he plays in this squad. For Palace, he plays right where Maddison plays in that left sided #10 role.

Can he play as a right wing/forward?

Certainly would rather spend 50M on him than Brennan Johnson, but surely Palace would ask for 60-70M. They’d get relegated without him and even in his last year they can get 30-40M for him next summer.

Barca don’t have the money to buy anyone, they can’t even register Gundogan (there’s even been talk he might leave on a free if they can’t). There is zero chance Gio is a remotely plausible transfer for them. Also with Dembele leaving and Fati on the chopping block their top target atm is Felix.

Furthermore we shouldn’t even be remotely considering selling Gio. He fits the system perfectly, Ange loves him, he’s clearly putting effort in and he has probably been our best player in pre season overall. I get injuries are a question with him but really I think it would be a very bad move to sell.

But you know we'd have then not played him, loaned him out for 3 consecutive seasons and stunted his development. We're so bad at this kind of thing.
I don't see it as bad with the other top 6 teams, but youngsters choosing to join us or one of them are really thinking of the £££ rather than their development. You can see how players like Madison and Eve made the "less attractive" moves to middle table clubs.

I can see this happening if Ange see that Son does not have the speed anymore to beat his man anymore in the Winger position and wants to move him into the 9 and fight with Richy then Use Eze as a Grealish typ, Wich would suit him very well because he is superb 1v1.
