Seeing as ITK have linked us. Not to mention some other places, some are reliable, far too many are dogshit.

I guess we will see if money talks over ambition. Can’t see it myself. The club might be happy to accept, but is he really going to trade chasing CL for battling relegation?

Yeah I still think irrespective of the money on offer, there's still a large bracket of top players who don't want to potentially be playing the Championship next season.

To summarise that article then:

The two Manchester clubs and Spurs are in the running for his signature - because they have a chance of winning silverware or competing in the Champions League.

Whereas he has no interest in those clubs that have no prospects of winning anything or competing in the Champions League.

Namely Newcastle.

And Arsenal.

Sounds about right to me. I approve of this article.

Yeah.. reputable sources say he doesn't even want to join Arsenal so he's sure as hell not going to want to join newcastle.

Yeah he’s not going to go to Newcastle ahead of a World Cup year.

Also the money wouldn't be a huge difference, it's not like years ago when city and Chelsea could offer double the salary offers.

United, chelsa, city, Liverpool, arsenal, us and even Leicester offer high wages nowadays. The only players they could realistically sign are the journeyman who nobody are willing to risk or youngsters with stupid wages.

No chance Newcastle will be able to sign the top tier players like dusan. Especially not in January.

Winks, Barkley, Ake and maybe a couthino at best. Even then I wouldn't be surprised if those players rejected them.

They'd be better off scouring France and Germany and picking up the best they can.

They won't be challenging for a good few years yet, even if they don't get relegated.

I don't see how we can afford him now... Could be a red herring for another striker.

Why? It's not a release clause, it's a normal transfer paid over 4/5 years.

We're not going to pay their top price as we won't have to if he continues to want us. Will likely happen in summer anyway.

Unfortunately don't see us selling anyone to Newcastle. Levy been on the phone trying to persuade prem clubs not to do business with them
Do you have a source for that? I was under the impression that Levy was whipping up support to implement PL rules to prevent Newcastle having ‘above market value’ sponsorship deals with Saudi businesses due to it being a vehicle to financially dope. That’s nothing to do with loaning them a player we do not think is good enough to succeed with us

Talk is levy led an unofficial meeting with other chairman with the intention of getting an unofficial agreement that no one would sell to Newcastle. the whole league want them down so makes sense. Although I can't see clubs agreeing to it in these covid times
