Dear Spurs community,

Stop playing the victim. Dembele behaved like a fucking moron, regardless of the comparisons with sanctions against other players/clubs. Some on here like to portray us as some bastion of rational behaviour at all times, upholding he integrity of the game, but we're not; we're a team of human beings who sometimes lose their heads. If this was a Chelsea player, we'd be frothing at the prospect of a hefty ban.

All the best,
Me.
If it was Terry or Costa, for example, we'd be calling for the law to get involved and we'd be hoping for a jail sentence, which is what would happen if you did this on a bus or in a pub.

@Tit&Ham explain yourself, easy to put a WTF, not so easy to explain.
No that I re-read your post I actually think I gave u a WTF on purpose. Removed it on good faith - but The way you have written that post Is that Dembele only would face a ban if there was an intentionally eye-poke.

His fingers or hands should not be in other players faces no matter if the intention was schratching, poking, squeezing, slapping, etc...

So there You have it:)

Dembele should Get a ban.
The length of this ban can be questioned.

Is it almost as bad as Suarez biting?
No.
Is it any worse than pulling someones hair?
I would say: about the same.
I think 3, max 4 games would be enough.

What walker did was much worse. Terrible from the officials and FA to let that pass - but I guess they wont admit the refs didnt have a clue all night.

I miss the old days when a weasely slap while the ref's back was turned was part of the game.

Goddamn you TV cameras and Twitter snitches.

I think the vast majority of us accepted it was a 3 match ban immediately.

I don't think anyone - including Shay Given and Jason Roberts - ever imagined it was going to be 6 games. Suarez only got 10 games for biting Ivanovic and this was after Evra; and after several priors for biting in other leagues.

Dembele's only been sent off once (for Fulham) in his entire UK career.

I hate eyegouging and think it needs to be stamped out. But the FA have ignored far worse incidents - Dembele is the scapegoat for the unedifying spectacle last Monday.

Think he'd get more than a 6 game ban for that...

Spot on, some of the responses here have frankly been embarrassing.

Thing is, costa has done this before, actually worse as Dembele didnt even go full gouge. Got nothing.

That's not the point, mate. We know he shouldnt have done it and it was a gross act. We're pissed off because Chelsea got away with many things in the past, including an actual gouge. And they continue to get away shit, including hitting our players and coaches in the tunnel after the game. All we'd like is a little fairness and the FA to have some integrity.

Where did he do this? I don't remember it.

The point is there is no actual video evidence of stuff in the tunnel, I am sure we did stuff in the tunnel as well but we aren't being done for it as there is no video evidence. Chelsea do get away with stuff and it is annoying but the thing that embarrasses me is the stuff about deliberate acts to sabotage us or other such rubbish.

Oh well, let's just pretend he's injured, it's been a while since he was anyway.

Love how all the old incidents are popping up. This one was only 3 matches as well...(although he probably kicked the ball instead of the kid)

One thing we have forgotten in all this is that Dembele is one of our most experienced players and he's let himself and the club down.

From Daily Express

Mousa Dembele to quit Tottenham

The 28-year-old has been at Spurs for four years since joining from Fulham but has this season been linked with moves to Chelsea and Juventus.

And now Roma's director of football Sabatini claims Dembele's move is already done but would not reveal where he will be going.

“[Mousa] Dembele has already been sold, and for a ridiculous price," Sabatini told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Guarantee you they're talking about the wrong Dembele.

Senior pro, experienced international, young team that needs leadership
Let himself down, the club down, his country down, his mother down.
And John Terry emerges as the next candidate for Ambassador to the UN for football.
Funny old game.
Well not so funny on this occasion.
