Happy to announce I have signed a contract for @SpursOfficial. Cannot wait for the future ahead!
Think this may be a spoof account but it has 13k followers
That's fair, was going to write that he does have different qualities than the 3 I was talking about that you mentioned, so he could be utilised. From what I saw of him for England he played alongside Winks as a box to box player, which is what Onomah can do but arguably Onomah is better as a no.10. I think what is clear though that he will bring is goals from the midfield which none of those really provide, and is my only criticism of Onomah. So I can see he can work with our players and not against
Well what is the point of an academy if we can just buy a load of young players and let them battle it out. I understand Jamie's post as clearly he offers something different. But according to your logic we should just buy all the good young players in the lower leagues as they have the potential to make it and doesn't matter about our youngsters as if they are good enough they should get in. Why stop at Alli. This summer I reckon after the addition of Alli for 5mil this winter, in the summer we should get Demarai Gray 3mil
Bryn Morris 3mil
Double swoop for Louis Reed and Che Adams as they played well against us for a combined 8mil. They are all homegrown and under 21. All doing well few leagues below and we can only make a profit on them. They have also shown they can handle the rough and tumble of league football.
I don't agree with that logic I think if we have class players within our own ranks we should give them a chance if tehy hve ability over others. It's just lazy otherwise and a waste of the academy and the ability we have in our ranks. I like Alli and now realise he can offer something different so the signing is cool, but the logic of just buying all proven players doesn't sit right with me.
I remember when people waned to buy Wickham who was banging them in for Ipswich over Kane, and a few were arguing that Kane was the better player but couldn't prove it as he wasn't in our first team. Or when people wanted Ince/Hoilett/Sinclair/Redmond over Townsend. Even though you say if you are good enough you will make it, surely you realise that if a club has shelled out for a player thenthey are more inclined to give that young player chances over their own player to ensure money is not wasted. That is what can happen if we just buy the next big thing and I would not take one of those players over ours. If there is a plan then cool, but don't buy for the sake of it.
It's belt and braces. Tautology. I mean....as opposed to what? The future behind?
Yes I'm saying he'd start the youngsters over Alli if he likes them better. He bought Stambouli and still plays Mason and Bentaleb over him.Unsure exactly what you mean. Do you mean you think Poch would play our youngsters over Alli if they are good enough, as he did with Mason and Bentaleb? I think Poch is the type to play players if they are good enough but if he has bought someone he's not going to start of with a youngster ahead of them. Otherwise why buy them?
you can buy "followers"how sad, the fake account has more followers than the real one.
eeeek.. that's even sadder.you can buy "followers"
Hyperbole aside. So because we have an academy we shouldn't buy good young players? I don't get it.

Not sure where you're seeing the evidence that he won't do it when that's all he's done all season.
