I dont hate Dele, I love the guy. Something has clearly happened where it has affected his football and pretty much instigated his fall off a cliff. Its such a humbling thing to see because he did have everything at his feet to be so damn great. It is so sad to see

Id like to think he can recover his form but in all honesty I dont think he will because I dont think he has the desire to do so - bluntly put - he seems to have fallen out with the game.

Been saying it for a while now but I can see so many parallels and similarities with what happened with Dele and currently happening with Rashford

Surely that means they have to pay us a fixed fee? No way did we not safeguard against this kinda thing.
No doubt Daniel will have allowed for this happening. Say the transfer fee or loan fee split 50/50.
Have watched him for Everton and he is just miles off it . His heart doen’tlook In it any more.
Hope he can do well in Turkey.

I was thinking who else fell off a cliff. Bentley didnt come to mind, he had that one great season before coming to us but he wasnt a Dele where he was tipped for great things.

But yeah perhaps somethign in just falling out of love with football one day and thats it. Very difficult to recover

It just makes me incredibly sad. I think Dele gets an unreasonable amount of stick because he did what most young people would do when they become incredibly wealthy; became complacent, and why wouldn't he? He went from being a kid from a poor environment to being world famous in a remarkably short space of time; I can't imagine how disorienting that must be. Yes he was paid handsomely but he's also been abused, criticised and threatened at knifepoint for his success; money doesn't cover everything, particularly if you're not used to it.

Just hope he gets to be happy again. Key part of many of my favourite Spurs moments (Real, Chelsea, Amsterdam, 16/17) and will always love him for that.

People’s childhoods form them in older life and he had a troubling one. It’s amazing he actually became a professional footballer with his background growing up. He played mens football as a 16 year old boy. I’m not sure that should even be allowed nowadays. I actually thought against Villa that the old Dele would have been a second or two quicker in the area and grabbed himself a couple of goals. Maybe his body just can’t do it any more.

Just want to see him happy again tbh. Maybe football isn't where he'll find that again.

You would have hoped that he would have made decent friends playing football. People like Kane (professionals -not specifically him) could have put an arm around him and helped save him from himself. Would love to see him back to his best somewhere at some point.

Amazing how he has gone from one of the most promising talents and a 2x young player of the year to this. He gave us some incredible memories though. Some of his goals against the Gooners and Chelsea were simply amazing. The audacity of his goal in the Carabao Cup is impossible to coach. Gutted he lost his way as a footballer.

Back in 2019 Dele was all over the New York subway on fashion posters. He lost focus and I don’t think he’s ever going to get it back. I’m truly sad about what happened to him, he was the one player everyone mentioned that they hated us having, which means he was highly effective! His stats were great for several years, and I wish he had somehow retained his focus. He could have been one of the all time top scorers for Spurs and England, instead he’s circling the drain.

I loved the reception we gave him when he came back with Everton last season, by far the loudest song sung all day.

I recall us playing Fulham away winter 2019, (Winks last minute header won it for us) Dele scored the equaliser and then went off injured, not convinced he was ever the same afterwards. He had a couple of good games when Jose first arrived. Also wonder if the break in at his place when he had a knife held to him has caused mental scars that he is struggling with?

The biggest fall from grace in Premier League history without a shadow of doubt. He was being lauded (& rightly so) as one of the greatest young players on earth during his highs.

I hope he finds has happiness in whatever he ends up doing, as ultimately he is vastly wealthy young man so doesn't require the riches of football anymore. Hopefully there are people round him to keep an eye as I just cant shake the feeling that something isn't right with him. I hope I am wrong.

Not surprised in the slightest, everything I thought would happen is happening to him.

I mean he’s not done anything nearly as bad as Greenwood, Adam Johnson or Mendy, all of whom have to be seen as much worse.

EH? It's sad really. Nothing against the kid, he gave great moments but he was never a good enough player to get away with a lack of drive, focus and hard work. Too many flaws to his game (which he needed to work on) and now people can see through the over hype he had early in his career.

Jose, Nuno, Conte all didn't fancy him, and now even Lampard is the same, it says it all. His PL career is finished.

I think he is talking about a player who lost his ability, the ones you mentioned stopped due to other circumstances.
